test(#4520): migrate generators/doc-gates/attribution batch to named timeout constants
Batch 9 of 17 in the ad hoc timeout literal migration (epic #4445). Replaces every bare numeric timeout/timeoutMs object-literal property in 14 files with a named constant, per eslint-rules/no-adhoc-timeout-literal.cjs. Removes the 14 files from the rule's allowlist. The issue's own guess ("all run a scripts/*.cjs generator or lint script once, BUILD_TIMEOUT_MS class") needed two corrections found by reading every site directly. First, BUILD_TIMEOUT_MS's own doc comment scopes it specifically to scripts/build-hooks.js, which none of this batch's generator/lint-script sites run — a new shared constant, GENERATOR_SCRIPT_TIMEOUT_MS, covers the class instead. Second, no-pending-3212-markers.test.cjs's single site spawns `git ls-files` directly, not a scripts/*.cjs script at all — routed to a second new shared constant, REAL_REPO_GIT_TIMEOUT_MS, promoted once emitted-attribution.test.cjs's own git-plumbing sites were found sharing the same class and value. Isolated Standards-axis review caught a further misclassification: one of REAL_REPO_GIT_TIMEOUT_MS's three emitted-attribution.test.cjs sites actually builds a fresh throwaway temp repo (createTempDir + git init), contradicting that constant's own real-repo-tree-only scope. Fixed with a new file-local FRESH_FIXTURE_GIT_TIMEOUT_MS holding the exact pre-existing value under an honest name, rather than reusing the shared GIT_FIXTURE_TIMEOUT_MS (which would have doubled the bound). emitted-attribution.test.cjs also gets two more file-local constants: HEAVY_REAL_TREE_TEST_TIMEOUT_MS (node:test's own per-test timeout option, not a spawn bound) and BUILD_HOOKS_UNDER_LOAD_TIMEOUT_MS (the same build-hooks.js script as the shared norm, at 4x its bound inside the suite's heaviest test). emitted-ack-trailer.test.cjs gets IMPOSSIBLY_SHORT_GIT_TIMEOUT_MS — the one value in this migration that is deliberately tiny (20ms), used to force a timeout in a negative test, not generous headroom. No src/bin file touched, no numeric value changed anywhere. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(#4130): parse phase-prefixed decision IDs (D4-01) (#4357)
* test(#4130): failing-first regression for phase-prefixed decision IDs Add the #4130 matrix: D4-01/D12-01 across all three bullet forms, tags, discretion, wrapped lead-ins, gate-level plan/verify end-to-end rows, and parity properties (well-formed digit-prefixed ids parse to their exact id; a non-digit injected into the prefix fails loud). Update the #2347 non-D-prefix fixture from D5-NN (now a legal grammar) to DEC-NN, and graduate the representative d5-prefix corpus fixture from could-not-parse to parsed-but-uncovered. All new rows are RED against origin/next; they go green with the parser fix in the next commit. * fix(#4130): parse phase-prefixed decision IDs (D4-01) The three declaration grammars, the parse-miss guard, the #3939 join regexes, and the token evidence all anchored on the literal 'D-' (or '**D-'), so an ID carrying a digit-run phase prefix between the leading letter and the hyphen matched nothing — while the #2347 shape detector correctly called those bullets decision-shaped, collapsing the whole CONTEXT.md to could-not-parse with 0 extracted instead of a coverage verdict. Derive the extractor ID grammar from one shared DECISION_ID_SOURCE ('D[0-9]*-' + the existing alnum tail, full id captured), widen the guard/join anchors to ID_ATTEMPT_SOURCE (bare 'D-' or a digit-initial prefix run, so a typo'd 'D4x-01' fails loud while letter-initial prose like 'Deferred-until' stays none-present), and align the bare-token evidence. Both gates and the gap-checker share the parser, so all three surfaces read phase-prefixed decisions now; the gate messages name the accepted forms including the phase-prefixed one. * docs(#4130): document the phase-prefixed decision identifier form The canonical CONTEXT.md reference said decisions carry 'a sequential D-NN identifier' with no mention of the optional phase-number prefix the parser now accepts (D4-01) or the alphanumeric tail it always accepted (D-INFRA-01). Name both in the Decision identifier format section, EN and ja-JP. * chore(#4130): changeset * chore(#4130): backfill PR number in changeset --------- Co-authored-by: sim <sim@local> |

fix(#2665): replace the hand-synced TEST_ENV_BASE copies with the canonical import
Eight declarations were kept in sync by hand with no parity assertion. The drift was already in the tree: api-coverage-gate-e2e and representative-corpus declared TERM_SESSION, but the real variable is TERM_SESSION_ID, so both scrubbed nothing for that slot and leaked TERM_SESSION_ID into every child. Deleting the copies removes the dead key with them -- there is no longer a second place to get wrong. run-tests-harness keeps its local session-identity literal: that helper mirrors the production runGsdTools to prove its CONTRACT, so it must not re-import what it is testing. The config-LOCATION keys are a safety scrub rather than part of that contract, so it spreads the canonical derived set and keeps the rest local. Addresses review findings: Blocker 2, Blocker 3. |

fix(#2665): scrub config-location env vars in every TEST_ENV_BASE declaration
TEST_ENV_BASE blanks session-identity variables but none of the three that
decide WHERE a child process writes: CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR, GSD_RUNTIME and
CODEX_HOME. The config-home resolver is env-first (runtime-homes.cts, the
dot-home case consults the env var before the home-derived fallback), so an
ambient CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR in the developer's shell beats a call site that
sandboxes only HOME. The suite then writes into the developer's real config
directory -- including a registered skill under <configDir>/skills/ whose
body carries behavioural directives that load into later sessions.
Blank all three alongside the session-identity vars. `...env` still spreads
last, so the five call sites that already constrain these locally keep
winning with their explicit values.
TEST_ENV_BASE is re-declared in nine files, so the three lines are added
nine times rather than once. Consolidating the nine into a single exported
constant -- and fixing the TERM_SESSION / TERM_SESSION_ID drift between the
copies -- is deliberately left out of this change; see the PR body.
One call site needed adjusting. capability-state.test.cjs's
`capability state --runtime claude` CLI test passed no env at all and
compared the CHILD's resolved config dir against the PARENT process's
getGlobalConfigDir('claude'). That agreed only because the child inherited
the developer's ambient CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR -- i.e. it passed *because of*
the leak. It now redirects both runtime homes into the sandbox and asserts
against values the test controls, so it is hermetic with the variable set
or unset.
Regression case folded into the owning module's test file rather than a new
bug-NNNN file, per scripts/lint-regression-test-names.cjs. It sets the
variable on the PARENT process, which is the actual vector; setting it in
the per-call env argument would exercise a path that was never broken.

fix(#2366): scope parseCoverageMatrix to recognized coverage tables (#2551)
* test(#2366): regression tests for parseCoverageMatrix scoping bugs Bug 1: summary table outside matrix not parsed as data Bug 2: multi-section matrix with repeated headers parses correctly Bug 3: markdown emphasis on decision cell is stripped * fix(#2366): scope parseCoverageMatrix to recognized coverage tables Replace latching sawHeader with contextual inMatrix tracking that resets on non-pipe lines, preventing summary tables from being parsed as data (bug 1). Allow multiple headers for multi-section matrices (bug 2). Strip markdown emphasis from decision cells before validation (bug 3). Closes #2366 * fix(#2366): update representative-corpus test to expect correct behavior The test previously documented the known-buggy parseCoverageMatrix behavior. Now that the fix is in place, test against the expected correct output (expectedBlock, expectedCounts, expectedErrorCount) instead of the currentBuggyOutput snapshot. * docs(#2366): backfill changeset PR number (2551) |

chore(#2371): representative gate-fixture corpus + document-shaped property test (#2380)
* chore(#2371): representative gate-fixture corpus + document-shaped property test Adds tests/fixtures/representative/ — a permanent corpus of verbatim, incident-sourced fixtures (never author-invented) from #2286, #2347, #2365, #2366, each labeled with its expected gate verdict in a MANIFEST.json and driven through the real CLI gate entrypoint via tests/representative-corpus.test.cjs. Adds a document-shaped fast-check property test alongside the existing writer-seeded bijection test in tests/api-coverage.test.cjs: the existing generator produces rows and renders them through the writer, so the document shape is a constant and it cannot fail against a decoy table; the new one generates the document space instead. Two gates (#2365, #2347) are still open, so their corpus/property assertions are marked with node:test's official `todo` option — the test executes and reports its failure without affecting the process exit code (https://nodejs.org/api/test.html#test-options). The audit-uat corpus (#2286, fixed by #2317) is a normal passing assertion, proving the methodology works end to end and not just cataloguing gaps. Records the fixture-provenance rule in CONTRIBUTING.md: a gate's fixtures may not be derived from the gate's own writer, grammar, or docstring examples; a negative fixture must come from a source that doesn't know the gate exists. No production src/*.cts changes — validation only, per #2371's scope. Closes #2371 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#2371): address orthogonal-review findings — dedup generators, fix field naming, wire dead fields Standards-axis review findings, all fixed: - Deduplicated the row-shape generators (capabilityGen/rowGen/validRowGen) that were copy-pasted between the parse/render bijection test and the new document-shaped property test in tests/api-coverage.test.cjs — a future edit to one could have silently desynced the two properties. Hoisted to a single module-scope declaration both tests reference. - Renamed decision-coverage-guard/MANIFEST.json's expectedOutcome -> expectedReason. It asserted against the gate's `reason` field, but this codebase already has a real, different `outcome` field at parser altitude (extractDecisions' DecisionOutcome) — naming the manifest field after the wrong altitude's term was exactly the ambiguity the "Fixture provenance" rule this PR adds exists to eliminate. - Removed the unused `role` field from three MANIFEST.json files (never read by any test) and wired the previously-dead per-fixture `expectedMinItems` in audit-uat/MANIFEST.json into a real per-file assertion in tests/representative-corpus.test.cjs, using cmdAuditUat's `results` array — catches a regression that moves items between the two fixture files while preserving the aggregate total, which the existing total_items check alone would miss. No changes to test intent or coverage — same assertions, correctly named and fully wired. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix: remove dead capabilityState/capabilityWriter requires from gsd-tools.cjs Surfaced by the mandatory pre-PR lint gate (no-unused-vars) while preparing this PR — unrelated to #2371's own changes, but a defect found while working is fixed in place rather than deferred. Leftover from #2368/#2370 (merged just before this branch rebased onto it): the case 'capability' arm that needed these two requires was relocated to bin/lib/capability-command-router.cjs, which already requires both modules directly (lines 24-25) and is their only real consumer (cmdCapabilityState, resolveCapabilityRuntimeState, cmdCapabilitySet). The two requires left behind in gsd-tools.cjs had zero other references in the file and were never re-exported — confirmed via grep across the file and its module.exports. Behavior-preserving: Node's require cache means the underlying modules still load exactly once via capability-command-router.cjs's own requires; gsd-tools.cjs never used its now-removed local bindings. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#2371): replace todo-marked assertions with characterization tests gsd-test's own JSONL result parser (gsd-test-runner's internal/pipeline/parse.go, verified directly against that repo's source) has no concept of node:test's `todo` option — it only recognizes kind:"pass"|"fail" and hard-errors on anything else. A { todo: true } test whose body throws is counted as a real failure in gsd-test's own verdict, exactly as if it weren't marked todo — proven by an actual gsd-test run against this branch, which reported outcome:"failed" with all six todo-marked assertions (the property test plus five representative-corpus fixtures) in the failure list, each carrying the correct raw node:test `todo` field the tool's parser simply doesn't read. Replaces todo with characterization: MANIFEST.json now carries both the correct target verdict (expected*) and the exact current observed verdict (currentBuggyOutput, directly verified against live CLI output for all five fixtures). Tests assert currentBuggyOutput — an honest, non-vacuous pin of today's known-broken reality that passes today and will fail loudly the moment the referenced fix changes the observed output, at which point the assertion should be flipped to expected* and currentBuggyOutput deleted. The document-shaped property test switches from throwing fc.assert to non-throwing fc.check (returns RunDetails per fast-check's own docs) and asserts report.failed === true directly, for the same reason. Updates all prose (CONTRIBUTING.md, the fixture READMEs) that previously claimed todo would be respected — that claim was factually wrong for this repo's actual tooling and must not ship. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore: regenerate golden-install-parity fixtures after rebase onto next Rebasing onto the current next (which now includes #2381's todo-severity changes to gsd-core/bin/gsd-tools.cjs) produced real conflicts in all 18 golden-install-parity fixtures — expected, since both branches changed the same gsd-tools.cjs hash entry. Resolved by taking one side to unblock the rebase, then regenerating fresh from source via npm run gen:golden and verifying the result; every file's diff is exactly the one hash line for gsd-core/bin/gsd-tools.cjs, correcting a stale intermediate hash from the arbitrary conflict pick.
