fix(#1441): antigravity resolver prefers GSD-owned dir over first-existing (#1442)
* fix(#1441): antigravity resolver prefers GSD-owned dir over first-existing resolveConfigHomeFromDescriptor's dot-home-nested probe returned the first bare-existing candidate, so a CLI user (~/.gemini/antigravity-cli) who also had the IDE's ~/.gemini/antigravity dir was silently shadowed to the legacy dir (probed first). Regression from #217 — pre-#217 returned ~/.gemini/antigravity unconditionally. Add an optional probeMarker (gsd-core/VERSION) to the dot-home-nested descriptor: a two-pass probe prefers the candidate GSD installed into, then bare existence, then probe[0]. Behavior is byte-identical when probeMarker is absent (windsurf etc. unaffected). Adds detectAntigravityDirAmbiguity() for installer/operator guidance on already-misinstalled users (auto-relocation ruled out per ADR-0008's single-configDir migration bound). Regression tests fail before / pass after: coexistence + marker-priority cases, end-to-end through the registry descriptor. fix(#1223): install scripts/fix-slash-commands.cjs so gsd-tools loads (#1240)
* fix(#1223): install scripts/fix-slash-commands.cjs so gsd-tools loads Before this fix, bin/install.js copied scripts/changeset/ and scripts/lib/ into the runtime config dir but omitted scripts/fix-slash-commands.cjs. gsd-core/bin/lib/command-roster.cjs requires this file at module load via require('../../../scripts/fix-slash-commands.cjs'), so every gsd-tools command crashed with MODULE_NOT_FOUND on every installed runtime. Four changes: - bin/install.js copy step: copy fix-slash-commands.cjs into <configDir>/scripts/ with source-missing hard-fail and verifyFileInstalled smoke check - bin/install.js writeManifest: track scripts/fix-slash-commands.cjs (not covered by the changeset/lib subdir loops) - bin/install.js uninstall: best-effort unlinkSync before scripts/ rmdir - scripts/fix-slash-commands.cjs readCmdNames(): wrap readdirSync in try/catch returning [] so skill-based/global installs without a local commands/gsd/ directory do not throw ENOENT Tests added to tests/install.test.cjs (6 new tests): - smoke: install() copies fix-slash-commands.cjs - e2e: spawned gsd-tools.cjs does not crash with MODULE_NOT_FOUND - manifest: writeManifest() tracks the file - uninstall: uninstall() removes the file - readCmdNames unit: export returns an array - readCmdNames spawn: absent COMMANDS_DIR returns exit 0 (no throw) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore(#1223): backfill changeset PR number (#1240) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix: recover silently-excluded test dirs + test-architecture audit hardening (#1195)
* fix: recurse test discovery so subdir test suites actually run
scripts/run-tests.cjs discovered tests with a flat readdirSync(testDir),
silently excluding tests/observability/ (4 files), tests/dispatch/ (1) and
tests/installer-migrations/ (1) — 94 passing tests — from `npm test` and all
CI lanes. Walk the tree recursively (relative subpaths preserved), classify
suites by basename, and add a fail-on-zero-executed guard for suite/default
runs (escape hatch GSD_ALLOW_EMPTY_SUITE=1) while preserving the empty
--files/--files-from path the CI inert lane relies on.
Unit suite 735 -> 741 files; surfaces ADR-227's observability/dispatch seam.

* test: retire 5 verified-worthless tests
Adversarial verification confirmed these 5 prove nothing — their coverage is
provided more strictly elsewhere:
- enh-2790 'has a name: field' spot-checks (command-contract enforces /^gsd[:-]/)
- command-routing-hub duplicate construct + duplicate ERROR_KINDS assertions
- no-cjs-sdk-handsync-tooling (guarded files that never existed on main; bug-190
covers the real retired SDK artifacts)
- runtime-artifact-layout cline edge case (subsumed by the explicit-global test
and bug-782-cline-skills-emission)
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* test: add ADR-218 release version-validation coverage
ADR-218 (reject leading-zero versions like 1.01.0; npm duplicate pre-check) had
zero tests — the logic lived only in release.yml bash. Add a test that extracts
the actual rejection regexes from the workflow and exercises them against a
boundary table (leading-zero/malformed rejected, valid accepted) plus structural
wiring assertions. Goes red if the regex is reverted to [0-9]+.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* test: redesign weak tests into behavioral, deterministic assertions
Per the ADR test audit, rewrite 27 weak test files (test-only, no source
changes) so each can go red for the defect it guards:
- kill pass-always assert.ok(true) placeholders (research-cli, worktree-baseref,
bug-260 security guard, eslint-rules x24, clusters '|| true')
- replace source-text grep with behavioral calls (install Kilo, sh-hook-paths,
plan-review-convergence) and add a repo-layout governance test
- de-flake real-clock/Math.random coupling (phase last_updated, bug-3707 mtime,
context-utilization property, feat-3594)
- fix independence/shared-state violations (bug-492 singleton, issue-844 tmpRoot,
core reapStaleTempFiles, active-workstream TTY, feat-488 GSD_HOME)
- strengthen property/shape-only tests (research-provider/store classification +
collision) and unconditional plugin.json schema validation (issue-766)
Verified: all 28 files run together 1220 pass / 0 fail / 1 skip.

* chore: add no-tautological-assert lint rule, error in test suite
New custom ESLint rule (eslint-rules/no-tautological-assert.cjs) bans asserts
that can never fail: assert(true)/assert.ok(<always-truthy literal>),
'cond || true' inside an assert, and equality asserts comparing two identical
literals. Wired as error on tests/**; full sweep confirmed zero existing
violations so the suite stays green. Prevents the placeholder-assert regressions
the audit redesigns just removed. RuleTester coverage added (6 valid, 8 invalid).
Note: no-only-tests was already enforced via eslint-plugin-no-only-tests, so no
duplicate rule was added.

* chore: gate new allow-test-rule exemptions to require an issue ref
ADR-456 requires any allow-test-rule exemption added after the ADR to carry a
tracking issue number, but nothing enforced it. New ratchet gate
(scripts/lint-allow-test-rule-refs.cjs, wired into lint:ci) fails when a NEW
allow-test-rule comment lacks a #NNN/URL reference; the 323 existing untracked
exemptions are grandfathered in an allowlist that ratchets down as they gain
refs. Red-green verified (novel untracked offender fails; compliant passes).

* docs: add ADR test-audit evidence report (#1192)
Full risk-first qa-test-architect audit of the ADR portfolio (37 ADRs + 4
platform lenses, adversarial verification of retire verdicts) that drove the
P0 discovery fix, ADR-218 coverage, 5 retires, 27 redesigns, and the two new
lint gates. Filed as point-in-time evidence under docs/issueevidence/, named
for tracking issue #1192.

feat(#1040): phase 5b — drive configHome from the runtime descriptor — ADR-857/1016 (#1043)
* feat(#1040): phase 5b — drive configHome from the runtime descriptor (runtime-homes switch → lookup) getGlobalConfigDir now resolves configHome from registry.runtimes[id].runtime.configHome via a single resolveConfigHomeFromDescriptor(configHome, {env, home, existsSync}) (dot-home / dot-home-nested / xdg / generic-agents-root), replacing the hardcoded 16-runtime switch. Equivalence-preserving: byte-identical config dirs for all 16 runtimes + grok + default + explicitDir (Codex-verified, no divergence). Nuances preserved: xdg env[1] is a FILE path → path.dirname; existsSync injection seam keeps antigravity/kimi probe tests hermetic; grok stays hardcoded (GROK_AGENTS_HOME → ~/.agents, not in the 16); copilot two-env fallback; explicitDir short-circuit. getGlobalSkillsBase unchanged (out of scope). Lazy require of the committed capability-registry.cjs (no circular load). Test env-clearing lists (install.test ENV_KEYS, bug-3126 envKeys) now derived from the registry runtime configHome.env arrays — auto-correct, closes the missing KIMI_CONFIG_DIR gap. New 81-case golden equivalence test. Closes #1040 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(#1040): make windsurf golden path Windows-portable (path.join, not POSIX literal) The dot-home-nested windsurf equivalence case hardcoded '/home/u/.codeium/windsurf' but the resolver builds it via path.join(home,parent,name) → backslashes on Windows. Use path.join for the expected value. Test-only; production resolver unchanged. Defensive scan confirmed it was the only path.join-derived hardcoded literal. This broke /gsd-<stem> dispatch and forced users to invoke skills without the gsd- namespace prefix. - src/runtime-artifact-layout.cts: change Hermes skillsKind prefix from '' to 'gsd-'; skills now land at skills/gsd/gsd-<stem>/SKILL.md with name: gsd-<stem> - bin/install.js _runLegacyInstallMigrations: invert the #3664 migration — remove stale bare-stem dirs (using readGsdCommandNames() to distinguish GSD-owned stems from user content), keep gsd-* dirs which are now canonical - bin/install.js _runLegacyUninstallCleanup: also remove bare-stem dirs on uninstall for clean teardown - bin/install.js uninstallRuntimeArtifacts: post-cleanup removes DESCRIPTION.md and empty skills/gsd/ category dir on Hermes - bin/install.js: remove skillListPrefix Hermes exception (now uses shared 'gsd-' path) - docs/adr/3660-runtime-artifact-layout-module.md: document #947 reversal of the bare-stem sub-decision Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore: add changeset for #947 fix (#955) Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#947): remove ALL pre-migration bare-stem Hermes skills on reinstall (adversarial review) Replace readGsdCommandNames()-based bare-stem cleanup (which missed skills not in the commands source tree, e.g. dev-preferences) with _removeHermesBareStemDirs(), called AFTER the install loop when the exact set of installed gsd-<stem>/ dirs is authoritative. For every gsd-<stem>/ written this run, the corresponding bare skills/gsd/<stem>/ is removed. User-owned bare dirs with no gsd-<stem> counterpart are preserved. Add two adversarial-review regression tests that FAIL on old code: - bare skills/gsd/dev-preferences/ removed when gsd-dev-preferences/ installed - user-owned bare dir with no gsd-<stem> counterpart is preserved (no over-deletion) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> --------- Co-authored-by: github-actions[bot] <41898282+github-actions[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(#935): install changeset CLI so /gsd-update changelog preview works (#938)
- bin/install.js now copies scripts/changeset/ and scripts/lib/ into <configDir>/scripts/ so $GSD_DIR/scripts/changeset/cli.cjs resolves at runtime; aborts install with an explicit failure if the source directory is missing from the package. - gsd-core/workflows/update.md: corrected path from gsd-core/scripts/changeset/cli.cjs to scripts/changeset/cli.cjs; added an explicit [ ! -f ] guard so a missing CLI surfaces a clear message rather than silently swallowing the error; stderr captured via 2>&1 sentinel so node errors are visible in the preview output. - release.yml's changeset-CLI invocations (node scripts/changeset/cli.cjs) remain at the repo-root path and are unaffected by this change. refactor(#887): consolidate duplicated CHILD_ROUTER test maps into shared helper (#889)
Three test files copy-pasted the concrete-skill->namespace-router CHILD_ROUTER map verbatim, and two more duplicated an identical local parseRouterRequires regex. Introduce tests/helpers/nested-layout.cjs that derives the child->router map from the authoritative commands/gsd/ns-*.md requires: lists once, reusing the production parseRequires (now exported from install-profiles) plus a nestedSkillPath(skillsRoot, prefix, stem) helper. Refactor all five test files to import from it. Test-only + a single internal export addition; no production behavior change. Closes #887 Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(#69): nest concrete skills under namespace routers at install (#883)
Emit the 6 gsd-ns-* routers as the only top-level skill bundles and nest the ~61 concrete skills under <router>/skills/<name>/SKILL.md on runtimes with confirmed non-recursive skill loaders (claude global, cline, qwen, hermes, augment, trae, antigravity). Router bodies rewrite their routing tables from Skill-tool dispatch to a Read skills/<name>/SKILL.md pattern. Recursive/unconfirmed loaders (cursor, codex, copilot, windsurf, codebuddy, opencode, kilo) keep the flat layout. Completes the v1.40 namespace architecture (#2792) so the eager skill listing drops to ~6 entries. Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(#812): honor COPILOT_HOME in Copilot global config-dir resolution (#814)
* fix(#812): honor COPILOT_HOME in Copilot global config-dir resolution getGlobalConfigDir('copilot') resolved the global config directory using only --config-dir > COPILOT_CONFIG_DIR > ~/.copilot, ignoring the COPILOT_HOME env var. Per GitHub's Copilot CLI docs, COPILOT_HOME overrides the default ~/.copilot location (and user-level hooks are read from $COPILOT_HOME/hooks/), so a global --copilot install wrote all artifacts (skills, agents, copilot-instructions.md, the gsd-session.json hook) to ~/.copilot even when the user relocated their Copilot home, making them undiscoverable by Copilot CLI. Mirror the codex/CODEX_HOME branch: precedence is now --config-dir > COPILOT_CONFIG_DIR > COPILOT_HOME > ~/.copilot. Uninstall uses the same resolver, so it stays symmetric. Also: document COPILOT_HOME in the installer --help notes, the USER-GUIDE env-var table, and the installer-migrations Copilot row; and clear COPILOT_HOME in the two default-path test suites so they stay hermetic now that the resolver honors it. refactor(#56): retire legacy runtime directory helpers into runtime-homes projection (#802)
* refactor(#56): retire legacy runtime directory helpers into runtime-homes projection Consolidate per-runtime global config-dir resolution onto the single canonical projection runtime-homes:getGlobalConfigDir. Extend it with the explicitDir override (CLI --config-dir) and the opencode/kilo OPENCODE_CONFIG/KILO_CONFIG file-path precedence the installer helpers had, making it byte-for-behavior equivalent to the old getGlobalDir across all 15 install runtimes. Delete bin/install.js's getGlobalDir/getOpencodeGlobalDir/getKiloGlobalDir (and the orphaned local expandTilde), repoint all 9 call-sites, and remove getGlobalDir from module.exports (net -242 lines in the installer). Migrate the 5 test importers to the canonical projection; harden default/XDG assertions against ambient *_CONFIG env vars. getAgentsDir now respects OPENCODE_CONFIG/KILO_CONFIG consistently with the installer (intentional convergence). Update CONTEXT.md Installer Module entry. Completes the installer-refactor chain #58 -> #60 -> #56. chore(#604): rename get-shit-done/ runtime directory to gsd-core/ (#615)
* chore(#604): rename get-shit-done/ runtime directory to gsd-core/ Renames the installed runtime directory `get-shit-done/` to `gsd-core/` so the on-disk name matches the package (`@opengsd/gsd-core`), repo, and binary (`gsd-tools`). The npm package name and binary are unchanged; npx/npm consumers are unaffected. Mechanical (bulk, ~90% of the diff): - `git mv get-shit-done gsd-core` - Swept path/identifier references across the repo via `perl -pe 's/get-shit-done(?!-\w)/gsd-core/g'`. The negative lookahead preserves the five legitimate slug variants that are NOT the directory: get-shit-done-{OLD,cc,classic,cli,redux} (old package/repo names). - Build/manifest wiring: package.json (bin, files, coverage globs), tsconfig.build.json (outDir), ~86 .gitignore build-output entries, stryker.config.mjs, scan-ignore files, install.js path strings. - Frozen (not rewritten): CHANGELOG.md history; translated docs (README.<locale>.md and docs/{ja-JP,ko-KR,pt-BR,zh-CN}/). New logic (review here): - src/installer-migrations/003-rename-get-shit-done-to-gsd-core.cts: a proper ADR-0008 installer migration. On upgrade it walks the legacy `~/.claude/get-shit-done/` tree, classifies each file via the prior install manifest, and emits remove-managed / backup-and-remove for managed files while PRESERVING unknown user-added files. Symlink-safe (skips a symlinked root and symlinked entries; bounds-checks every path under configDir). The framework rolls back on install failure. Emptied dirs may remain (framework has no recursive dir-removal primitive) — documented. - scripts/lint-legacy-dir-name.cjs: CI regression guard forbidding the bare `get-shit-done` directory token (split token to avoid self-match; case- insensitive; `(?!-\w)` lookahead allows the slug variants; allowlists CHANGELOG, translated docs, and `gsd-allow-legacy-name` marker lines). Wired into the lint-tests CI job. - Restored scripts/lint-package-identity-drift.cjs detection regexes (the mechanical sweep had wrongly rewritten the old-name patterns it exists to detect) and marked them as intentional legacy references. - TDD tests for the migration and the guard; do.md slash-command guard regex tightened so a `/gsd-core/bin` path segment is not mistaken for a command; changeset + docs/installer-migrations.md row added. Breaking: the installed runtime path moves `~/.claude/get-shit-done/` -> `~/.claude/gsd-core/`. Migration 003 removes the stale legacy dir's managed files (preserving user files) on upgrade. Users with custom hooks/configs hardcoding the old path must update them. Closes #604 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#604): unsweep pending changesets + allowlist injection-example docs CI fixes for the rename PR: - Do not sweep pending .changeset/*.md (ephemeral release-note fragments, like CHANGELOG); reverted those body edits so 5 pre-existing malformed fragments (missing type/pr) no longer enter the PR diff and trip docs-lint. Allowlisted .changeset/ in the legacy-name guard accordingly. - Allowlisted TEST-EXAMPLES.md and docs/explanation/security-model.md in prompt-injection-scan.sh: they contain intentional injection examples / security-model prose; the path-reference rewrites are kept. CodeQL alerts on this PR are pre-existing (alert lines unchanged by this PR; none in the new migration/guard) and are out of scope for the rename. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#604): resolve CodeQL alerts surfaced on this PR The rename diff touched files carrying pre-existing CodeQL findings; per the no-pre-existing-dismissal rule, fixing every surfaced alert rather than waving them off. All behavior-preserving: - scripts/ci-test-scope.cjs: build the config-path match from string .includes() instead of a RegExp over an arg-derived value (js/regex-injection). - src/profile-output.cts: escape backslashes before pipe-escaping desc/safeName so the table-cell escape is complete (js/incomplete-sanitization). - tests/{bug-2643,bug-2808,docs-parity-live-registry}: two-pass HTML-comment strip so a bare/unclosed `<!--` cannot survive (js/incomplete-multi-character-sanitization). - tests/inline-plan-threshold: drop the no-op `\s`->`\s` identity replace, keep the meaningful POSIX-class conversion (js/identity-replacement). Verified: build:lib green; the touched test files + ci-test-scope + profile-output suites pass; lint:legacy-name clean. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#604): correctly resolve remaining CodeQL alerts (regex-injection + sanitization) The prior commit's fixes for two alerts were ineffective: - ci-test-scope.cjs js/regex-injection: the alert is the CLI-arg-derived `file` reaching static regex `.test(file)` calls (not the config rule). Removed ALL regex over file/t — startsWith/includes/=== string checks + an isWindowsHint helper — so there is no regex sink for the tainted value. - js/incomplete-multi-character-sanitization (3 test files): a single `.replace(/<!--...-->/g,'')` can let `<!--` re-form. Replaced with a fixpoint loop (replace until stable) plus a final bare-opener strip. Verified: no regex over file/t remains; ci-test-scope + the 3 test suites pass; lint:legacy-name clean. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#604): make ci-test-scope + comment-strippers regex-free to clear CodeQL CodeQL flags the regex PATTERNS syntactically (regex-injection on the --files arg split; incomplete-multi-character-sanitization on the <!--...--> replace), so loop fixes do not satisfy it. Made these paths regex-free: - ci-test-scope.cjs splitFiles: char-by-char separator tokenizer (no /[,\\s]+/). - 3 test files: indexOf/slice HTML-comment stripper (no .replace(/<!--/)). Behavior preserved; ci-test-scope + the 3 suites pass; guard clean. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#604): unblock security base64 scan on the large rename diff The security job hit its 10m timeout: base64-scan.sh choked on the binary test fixture tests/feat-3594-parser-property-style.test.cjs (embedded NUL/ non-UTF8 bytes -> thousands of bogus blobs + "ignored null byte" warnings), and the ~800-file rename diff is slow to scan regardless. - scripts/base64-scan.sh: skip binary-by-content files (grep -Iq .) — they can't carry base64-obfuscated *text* and feeding NUL bytes through the per-line scanner is pathologically slow. collect_files already filtered binary *extensions*; this catches binary *content* in text extensions. - .github/workflows/security-scan.yml: raise the security job timeout 10m->30m to accommodate very large diffs (the scan itself is unchanged). Verified locally: scan skips the fixture, 0 "ignored null byte" warnings, 0 findings, exit 0. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#604): sweep get-shit-done refs introduced by merging next The branch was updated with next (#614/#384/#618 etc.), which reference the get-shit-done/ dir (still named that on next). Swept the stale references in the merged files to gsd-core so the rename stays consistent and lint:legacy-name passes: - commands/gsd/discuss-phase.md (runtime-launcher shim paths) - src/core.cts (getAgentsDir layout comments) - tests/bug-384-agents-runtime-aware.test.cjs (require path to runtime lib) Verified: guard 0 violations; build green. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#604): exclude gsd-core/ path segments from bug-3683 command cross-ref invariant The #614 runtime-launcher shim added to discuss-phase.md references `${_GSD_RUNTIME_ROOT}/gsd-core/bin/...`. bug-3683's REF_PATTERN excluded path-y refs only via lookbehind, but `}` precedes `/gsd-core/` in the shim, so it mis-read the directory path as a dangling `/gsd-core` command ref (same class as the #604 bug-2954 fix). Added a trailing `(?![\w-]*\/)` so `/gsd-<x>/...` path segments are not treated as slash-command references. Verified locally on BOTH platforms before pushing: - mac (node 26) full suite: 0 failures - gsd-test-runner (linux, node22 image) full suite: 0 failures - bug-3683 + bug-2954 pass. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#604): lazily resolve findProjectRoot in gsd-tools (harden flaky CI) CI intermittently failed state.test's gsd-tools subprocess with "findProjectRoot is not a function" (flip-flopping across legs; not reproducible on mac full suite, gsd-test linux full suite, test:unit, or state.test x8). findProjectRoot is a re-export from core.cjs (sourced from project-root.cjs); binding it via destructure at module-load can be undefined under a load-ordering edge. Resolve it lazily at call time via a small wrapper so the lookup happens after core.cjs is fully initialized. Verified green on BOTH platforms before pushing: - mac (node 26) full suite: 0 failures - gsd-test-runner (linux, node22) full suite: 0 failures - state.test.cjs: 106/106; gsd-tools loads cleanly. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#604): allowlist verification-patterns.md placeholder examples in secret scan The rename git-mv'd references/verification-patterns.md into gsd-core/, pulling it into the secret-scan diff. It documents stub/placeholder RED-FLAG env-var examples (illustrative Stripe test-key / database-URL / API-key placeholders) — not real credentials. Added it to .secretscanignore with the strict annotation, mirroring the existing gsd-core/workflows/plan-phase.md exception. Verified locally: secret-scan-lint --strict OK; secret-scan --diff origin/next exits 0 with 0 findings. feat(#498): single Package Identity seam for /gsd:update + fix runtime undefined-name bug (#499)
* feat(#498): generated package-identity seam derived from package.json Introduce a single source for GSD's published-package coordinates: scripts/generate-package-identity.cjs (pure deriveIdentity + formatManualInstall + render) emits the generated get-shit-done/bin/lib/package-identity.cjs with values baked from package.json at build time. Baking is required because the installed tree carries only a synthetic {"type":"commonjs"} package.json, so a runtime require('package.json').name resolves to undefined (#378). Reconciles Wired into npm run build; a parity test fails CI if the committed file drifts from package.json. Refs #498 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#498): repoint update worker + check-latest-version at the seam - check-latest-version.cjs sources PACKAGE_NAME from the package-identity seam instead of a re-typed literal (single source; #2992's constant guarantee is preserved since the seam bakes from package.json). - gsd-check-update-worker.js no longer does require('../package.json').name (resolved to undefined in the installed tree → background update check silently broken, #378). It now delegates the latest-version lookup to checkLatestVersion(), collapsing the duplicated npm-view call onto the single deterministic adapter and inheriting its typed {ok,version,reason} surface. - Move the PR #3102 Windows shell-gate contract test onto execNpm (where the spawn now lives) and assert the worker no longer spawns npm directly. - Rewrite the #378 contract: worker must NOT use require(package.json).name and must delegate; check-latest-version PACKAGE_NAME is single-sourced from the seam. Fixes #378-class runtime breakage. Refs #498 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore(#498): changeset for package-identity seam + update-check fix Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(#498): drift-guard lint — value-check GSD coordinate literals against the seam scripts/lint-package-identity-drift.cjs scans the runtime/code surface (bin/, hooks/, scripts/, get-shit-done/) and asserts every GSD package name and GitHub repo slug literal equals the Package Identity seam's current value. Passes today; fails the moment a repoint isn't propagated (rename package.json, regenerate the seam, and stale literals are reported until updated). This is the second adapter that makes the seam real and a repoint mechanically safe. Enforced via tests/issue-498-identity-drift-lint.test.cjs (scanRepo === []) under npm test; also exposed as `npm run check:identity-drift`. Refs #498 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(#498): update-context projection — port update.md resolution to a tested seam Add get-shit-done/bin/lib/update-context.cjs: a pure, injected-fs port of update.md's ~280-line get_installed_version bash. resolveUpdateContext() reproduces the full precedence cascade (preferred fast-path -> local probe -> global probe via env overrides then $HOME -> LOCAL-if-distinct -> scope cascade -> UNKNOWN) and returns the 4-field contract { installedVersion, scope, runtime, gsdDir }. The fs is injected so every branch is finally testable without a live multi-runtime install. Expose it as `gsd-tools update-context [--config-dir <d>] [--runtime <r>] --json`. Purely additive — update.md is unchanged in this commit; the workflow swap follows separately. Refs #498 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(#498): swap update.md resolution to the update-context projection Replace ~280 lines of inline runtime/scope/config-dir bash in update.md's get_installed_version step with a call to `gsd-tools update-context --json` (60 lines: derive PREFERRED_* from execution_context, resolve gsd-tools.cjs, parse the 4-field JSON). Behavior is unchanged — the projection reproduces the same cascade — but the logic is now tested in update-context.cjs instead of untestable bash-in-markdown. Relocate the #3608 antigravity-first-class contract onto the projection (RUNTIME_DIRS order, inferPreferredRuntime, envRuntimeDirs) plus a behavioral test; keep the execution_context path-classification assertion on update.md. Re-point install.test's custom-config-dir assertion (kilo.jsonc/KILO_CONFIG) to update-context.cjs where that detection now lives. Full root suite: 2022 pass / 0 fail. Refs #498 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs(#498): record Update Context Module in CONTEXT.md Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#498): CI — avoid bare gsd-tools in update.md; register new CLI modules - update.md update-context invocation: resolve the PATH gsd-tools shim into a variable and call "$GSD_TOOLS" (never a bare `gsd-tools` command) — satisfies the #2851 workflow-bare-gsd-tools guard. - Register package-identity.cjs and update-context.cjs in docs/INVENTORY.md (CLI Modules 76 -> 78 + rows) and regenerate docs/INVENTORY-MANIFEST.json, fixing inventory-counts and inventory-manifest-sync. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(#498): make update-context + parity tests OS-agnostic (Windows CI) Two Windows-only test failures, both test-portability (production code is fine — the real-fs CLI integration test passed on Windows): - update-context resolver tests + bug-3608 behavioral test used POSIX path-string keys in their fake fs, but the resolver builds lookups via path.join/resolve (backslash + drive letter on Windows) → keys never matched → everything resolved to UNKNOWN/claude. Normalize fake-fs keys and gsdDir comparisons through path.resolve so they match on both platforms. - package-identity parity test compared render() (LF) to the committed file, which Windows git checks out as CRLF (no .gitattributes eol rule). Normalize line endings before comparing, matching the repo convention (autonomous-decomposition, bug-3707). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#498): update.md backup must use GSD_DIR (adversarial-review finding) The get_installed_version rewrite emits GSD_DIR but dropped the probe-loop variables LOCAL_DIR/GLOBAL_DIR. The backup_custom_files step still read those, so RUNTIME_DIR went empty for every LOCAL/GLOBAL install and detect-custom-files was skipped — and since the update then runs a clean install that wipes managed dirs (commands/gsd, get-shit-done), user-added files could be deleted without the intended backup. Set RUNTIME_DIR="$GSD_DIR" directly (the resolved config dir; empty for UNKNOWN scope, which still skips the backup). Add a structural regression (tests/issue-498-update-backup-runtime-dir.test.cjs). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(#503): re-point Antigravity .agent detection at the #498 projection #499 moves the runtime/scope detection cascade out of update.md inline bash into get-shit-done/bin/lib/update-context.cjs. The #503 regression test asserted on the inline RUNTIME_DIRS array, which no longer exists, so it would fail against the projected update.md even though the .agent guarantee is preserved. Rewrite it to verify the surviving surfaces: - behavioral: resolveUpdateContext resolves a LOCAL ./.agent install to the antigravity runtime (the original root cause, now covered by adding ['antigravity', '.agent'] to the projection RUNTIME_DIRS table) - update.md prose classifier still maps /.agent/ -> antigravity - the post-update cache-clear for-dir loop still includes .agent Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#498): finish de-hardcoding consumers + close adversarial-review parity gaps Restore the consumer de-hardcoding that is the point of the seam, and close the parity gaps an adversarial review (codex) found in the update-context projection. De-hardcode the repo slug + install command in the changeset tooling — #516 only single-sourced the package NAME, leaving 'open-gsd/get-shit-done-redux' hardcoded in scripts/changeset/cli.cjs and github-release-notes.cjs. Route both through the seam's repoSlug/packageName so a rename is a regenerate, not a hand edit. The drift-lint real scan now reports zero divergent coordinate literals. Projection parity vs the old inline bash, as ONE consistent rule (trustedVersionAt) applied on every path: - expand a leading ~/ in preferredConfigDir before the fast path (the bash ran expand_home first; a custom --config-dir ~/foo otherwise fell to UNKNOWN) - trust a version only when BOTH VERSION and the update.md marker exist — fast path AND LOCAL/GLOBAL cascade; a partial dir falls to 0.0.0 keeping scope - apply the same same-path dedup to the 0.0.0 fallback so a partial install probed from cwd===home is not misdetected as LOCAL Adds regression tests for tilde expansion, VERSION-only (cascade + fast path), and the cwd===home partial-install dedup. refactor(tests): consolidate Installer Module — 11 files → 2 (#3760)
* chore(tests): lint rule — cap test files per production module at 2 Adds scripts/lint-test-file-count.cjs with a ratcheted allowlist (scripts/lint-test-file-count.allowlist.json) capturing today's 30 violating clusters as a ceiling. New entries blocked at PR time; reductions ratchet automatically. Wires into .github/workflows/test.yml as a new step in lint-tests. Refs #3737 Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore(tests): add docs-exempt to changeset fragment Internal CI lint rule — no user-facing docs impact. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> * refactor(tests): consolidate Installer Module — 11 files → 2 Closes #3758 Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(changeset): replace invalid type 'Chore' with 'Changed' — ALLOWED_TYPES only accepts Added|Changed|Deprecated|Removed|Fixed|Security Fragment already had a docs-exempt marker; only the type value was wrong. Refs #3758 Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> * refactor(tests): split install.test.cjs along section seams — keep files ≤ 800 LOC 1828-LOC monolith split into 3 files by semantic boundary: install.test.cjs (602 LOC) — S1-5: dir resolution, install/uninstall spot-checks, Kilo install-runtime-artifacts.test.cjs (347 LOC) — S6-8+12: layout loop, Contract 6, legacy migrations install-minimal-hooks.test.cjs (782 LOC) — S9-11+13: profiles, minimal E2E, hooks copy Shared constants and helpers extracted to tests/helpers/install-shared.cjs (216 LOC). Total test count unchanged: 210 tests (68+37+105). Refs #3758 Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(tests): ratchet state test-file ceiling to 9 — actual count at baseline The allowlist was initialised with state=8 but the repo already had 9 files matching the 'state' prefix at the time the lint rule was created, causing lint-test-file-count.test.cjs to fail on the real repo immediately.
