A plugin developed inside an application replaces its required plugins
with sibling directories (../user). Checked out on its own, that
directory is missing and plugin.yaml lost the minimum (golem15.user: ""),
so the manifest differed between the two layouts and TestPluginManifest
could not pass in both. Such a module is now fetched at the version
go.mod requires, as a consumer would see it.
- listedModule.fallback marks a local replace whose directory is absent
- fallback modules download separately, so one unfetchable version does
not hold up the others
- TestDeriveMissingReplace over a file:// proxy (offline)
The comment-keeping summer.yaml edit refused a flow-style plugins list
(plugins: [{id: a, module: b}]) that plugin:add used to handle with a
full rewrite. The edit now replaces an inline list, over one or several
lines, with a block list of its items plus the new ones and keeps every
other line. A list it cannot edit in place (a tagged one, say) falls
back to the full SaveManifest rewrite with a note that the comments were
not kept. plugin:install gets the same behaviour.
With a framework version that is not a release (a devel build, an empty
FrameworkVersion) every plugin with a minimum was marked as needing a
newer framework, and Compatible looked only at the newest release, so a
plugin whose older release fits was marked although plugin:install
would install that release. An unknown framework now gives no marker
(and no needs-framework note on the Installed tab), and a plugin whose
newest release is too new is looked up (cached, four at a time) and
counts as compatible when an older release fits.
pluginCatalog.lists was keyed by every distinct query and category and
never dropped an expired entry, so searching distinct strings grew the
process without limit (each entry can hold a 4 MiB answer). Storing a
search into a full cache now drops the expired searches and then the
ones that expire first, keeping at most 256.
validateGitURL refused only a password, but GitHub, GitLab and Gitea take
a token as the user part of an https URL. Such a URL was printed and
written to .gitmodules by git submodule add, and so committed with the
application. An https URL with any user info is now refused with a hint
to use a credential helper; the user of an ssh URL stays allowed.
A failure after the first change left the application half-modified: a
checkout moved into plugins/<vendor>/<name> but not registered, go.mod
edited, submodules without summer.yaml entries (and the next install
refused the leftover directory), or some submodules updated and others
not. Both commands now snapshot go.mod, go.sum, go.work, go.work.sum,
summer.yaml and .gitmodules (with its index entry) before applying; a
failure restores them, removes the submodules the run added (index
entry, submodule config, absorbed git dir, checkout; registered right
after the move) and checks moved submodules out where they were. What
cannot be undone is named in the error.
plugin:install pinned only modules chosen in the same plan, so a second
plugin package in a module the application already required was
installed at the newest release, moving the plugin already there, and
with --source the repository was cloned a second time. PlanInstall now
seeds every module of summer.yaml: a plugin in one installs at the
installed version with no go get or clone (only its summer.yaml entry),
and is refused with a plugin:update hint when that version has no
release of it or is not a release. A git URL whose repository is already
a submodule, or whose module the application has, is refused.
plugin:update dropped a go.mod require that was not a strict vX.Y.Z and
treated it as v0.0.0, so a module at a commit after v0.4.0
(v0.4.1-0.<ts>-<hash>) was moved back to v0.4.0. kiosk.Newer now places
a release against a release, a git describe string or a pseudo-version
(by the tag it builds on, in Go's version order); plugin:update and the
admin Plugins screen badge share it. A pseudo-version with no tag before
its commit is left alone with a note naming go get <module>@<tag>.
- GET /plugins looks up each versioned plugin's releases through
kiosk.Client and applies plugin:update's rule (NewestCompatible above
the BaseVersion), with the update command and the framework a newer
release needs
- GET /plugins/marketplace forwards q and category (validated like the
registry), marks installed and incompatible plugins and returns the
install command; ids outside the plugin ID shape are dropped
- 4 s per-call timeout, at most 4 lookups at once, in-process cache
(searches 5 min, releases 15 min, failures 1 min); a failing registry
gives status unavailable, an empty plugins.registry_url sends nothing
- SPA: update badges and Marketplace tab with copy buttons (clipboard
fallback), hidden when the registry is disabled; no install button
- OpenAPI, SPA types, inventories, conformance case, en/pl strings, docs
- GET /plugins (backend.view_plugins, superusers always pass) lists the
plugins from party.Installed, or party.Activated IDs for older builds,
with the built framework version and whether the registry is configured
- Settings -> System -> Plugins entry with the new SettingsEntry.path,
added only for principals allowed to open it
- PluginsView at /system/plugins with an Installed tab (reka-ui Tabs);
settings panel, rail, breadcrumbs and page title know the route
- OpenAPI and SPA types regenerated; contract, token-class and
conformance inventories list the route; en/pl strings; docs
- module installs move to the newest compatible registry release with
one go get; submodules fetch tags, check out the release tag and
require it in go.mod; go.work overrides and version pins are refreshed
- unlisted submodules (git URL installs) update from their own tags and
plugin.yaml; --offline restricts to that
- without an ID every plugin that resolves is updated; in-app, unlisted
and incompatible ones are reported; failure only when a resolved
update cannot be carried out
- same prompt rule as plugin:install
- --source clones each registry repository (https only) at the chosen tag,
adds it as a submodule under plugins/<vendor>/<name>, absorbs its git
dir and registers it with the tag as the go.mod require
- git URLs (https, ssh, user@host:path) are cloned with the user's git
setup and never sent to the registry; the newest tag whose plugin.yaml
framework minimum fits is checked out, else the default branch head
- go.work replace overrides for every local replace in workspace modules'
go.mod files (app target, versioned workspace module, or version pin)
- GIT_ALLOW_PROTOCOL=https:ssh, '--' before URLs and paths; non-git apps
are refused before cloning; plugin:add keeps require v0.0.0
- required plugins resolve transitively against the registry, each at the
newest release meeting the framework and its minimum, dependencies first
- an installed requirement below its minimum stops with a plugin:update
hint; cycles in registry data are reported
- one go get for the whole set; plugins sharing a module share a release
- behavior subtests: deps, installed_old, cycle, pin, unknown, prompt,
offline, invalid
- kiosk.Client reads the registry API v1 over fetchguard (trusted mode,
4 MiB, 10 s, no redirects); kiosk.RegistryURL reads plugins.registry_url
(default https://summercms.io, empty disables)
- build.PlanInstall/ApplyInstall pick the newest release the effective
framework satisfies (or a pin), validate registry strings, go get it and
append it to summer.yaml
- summer.yaml edits (plugin:add and plugin:install) keep comments and
blank lines
- TestInstallSmoke/module installs from a file:// GOPROXY and builds
- party.Info, party.Installed, party.Describe (additive; Plugin and Activate unchanged)
- summer build resolves plugin dirs with one go list, reads plugin.yaml, versions per D-07 (module version, git describe without --dirty, none for in-app plugins)
- build.EffectiveFramework: newest tag of a locally replaced or used framework checkout, else the go.mod require
- generated main calls party.Describe(app, PluginInfo, FrameworkVersion) before Activate; metadata failures warn and fall back to IDs
- summer new goldens and examples/hello regenerated
- kiosk.ReadIdentity: ID()/Requires() as literals or constants across packages and modules, read with go/parser, never run
- plugin minimums from go.mod requires; v0.0.0 is an error, a pseudo-version warns
- kiosk.Validate, kiosk.CheckT (no testing import)
- plugin:add reads IDs through kiosk.ReadIdentity, so const-ID plugins register
