chore: merge release v1.4.1 to main (#919)

main holds no content beyond v1.4.0 (git diff v1.4.0 origin/main is empty), so
main adopts the v1.4.1 tree verbatim. Uses the 'ours' merge strategy to record
main as a parent without resurrecting content the 1.4.1 fixes removed.
