enh(#2876): retire the dead and pass-through exports from bin/install.js (#3615)
* enh(#2876): retire the dead and pass-through exports from bin/install.js The installer exported 197 names and had zero production consumers - every non-test require of it repo-wide sits inside a comment. Its interface was shaped by test access, not by callers. Removes 9 dead exports and 61 pass-throughs, repointing their tests onto the extracted modules' own interfaces. 197 down to 127. Every count in the issue was wrong: 197 exports not 188, 9 dead not 12, 61 pass-throughs not 49, 44 test files not 42 - and the audit itself then missed 7 more consumer files. restoreUserArtifacts was on the dead list but ceased to exist in phase 6, and two _GSD_EFFORT_MANIFEST_* names listed as dead are now genuinely asserted, so acting on that list would have deleted live exports. 7 of the 9 dead names collide with an independent declaration that install.js delegates TO. Each removal was justified by which declaration a reference resolves to, never by whether the name appears somewhere. Coverage parity was the gate rather than test greenness: per-file counts were captured before any edit and diffed after. 44 of 45 files are byte-identical; the single delta is one added assertion, not a loss. The sweep for scattered require sites found two forms static grep misses - require(VARIABLE) and multi-line require() - plus tests asserting that install.js re-exports the SAME object, which now assert retirement instead. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#2876): close review findings — restore the duplicate-body guard, sweep orphaned code Both review engines found real defects in the first cut. The DEFECT.GENERATIVE-FIX single-owner guard from #1511 had been repointed from a reference-identity check to install.X === undefined. Those are not equivalent: the guard exists to catch a duplicate function body reintroduced into install.js, and the replacement passes cleanly if that duplicate is used internally and never exported. It now walks bin/install.js's real top-level bindings, so it catches a duplicate under either shape, exported or not - strictly stronger than the check it replaced. Proved by injecting a duplicate and watching it go red. That weakening survived the coverage-parity gate because the assertion count never moved. The gate compares counts, so an assertion that changes meaning rather than number is invisible to it. Removing the exports had orphaned their wrapper bodies: 14 dead wrappers, 9 consts and 9 destructure entries, several pre-existing and found by the same sweep. Dead code left in the file this phase exists to shrink. Three more comments claimed re-exports this phase removed, and tests were reading Cursor and Windsurf hook constants from install.js's local copy while calling functions from the hooks surface - equal today, with nothing holding them equal. The local consts now reference the owning module. fix(#3309): acknowledge health.md growth, fix stale doc-consistency tests
gsd-test found two independent gaps around the newly-generated health.md tables: - emitted-attribution.test.cjs requires an acknowledgment for health.md's 2271-byte growth (16-code hand-maintained table -> 34-row generated table, this phase's explicit acceptance criterion). Adds tests/emitted-drift-acks/3309-health-docs-generated.json. Removes 2573-state-head-freshness.json's now-inert health.md entry (that fragment's growth already landed on origin/next, the diff base this branch is compared against, so it has nothing left to acknowledge — and the guard forbids two fragments naming the same path). - runtime-converters.test.cjs's health.md content-consistency checks asserted stale text from the old hand-written table: a regex that false-positived on the new table's own unrelated W020 row (worktree scan degradation, a different diagnostic than the W025 isolation warning it was meant to detect), and anchors expecting the old table's exact last row / footnote wording. Narrowed the regex to require the literal use_worktrees config key, and updated the anchors to the new table's real shape (I001/I010 as the last rows, the new generated-table footnote). |

fix(#2486): do not recommend or persist Claude-only worktree isolation on non-Claude runtimes (#2531)
* fix(#2486): runtime-branch the settings worktrees question + W020 health diagnostic On non-Claude runtimes /gsd:settings offered "Yes (Recommended)" for worktree isolation and persisted workflow.use_worktrees: true — the exact value the execution workflows fail closed on (#1521 guards). Branch the question on the same stamped config-get runtime read the guards use: Claude keeps the unchanged question; non-Claude offers only "No (Recommended)" / "Leave unchanged", never persists true, and warns when the config carries an inherited explicit true. /gsd:health gains W020, surfacing such a config with the guards' own predicate before execution-time failure. Docs state the runtime-conditional default. Fixes #2486 Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore(#2486): add changeset for PR #2531 Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#2486): reassign the health worktrees check W020 -> W024 (verify.cts namespace collision) The workflow-level check collided with the live W020 (git-worktree-list health) emitted by cmdValidateHealth in src/verify.cts — invisible from health.md's error_codes table, which stops at W019 and under-represents the real namespace (W010-W017, W020-W023 all live). W024 verified free. Adds a regression test pinning the chosen code against src/verify.cts so a future assignment cannot silently collide, a table note naming the namespace owner, and the changeset body reworded to house style. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#2486): pre-select the recommended repair in the broken-inheritance case Review round 2: at settings.md:142 the pre-selection rule left "Leave unchanged" as the default when the config carried an explicit non-false use_worktrees — the exact broken state the adjacent notice warns about, so accepting the default kept a config that fails closed at execution time. "Leave unchanged" is now the default only when the key is absent (nothing to repair); explicit false AND explicit non-false both pre-select "No (Recommended)", aligning the default, the label, and the notice. Pinned by two source-contract assertions in the #2486 regression block. Goldens (settings.md hash x19) + size baseline regenerated. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#2486): gate the worktrees question on dispatch.isolation, not the runtime name Review round 2: #2584 Phase 3 replaced the runtime-name test with a declared `dispatch.isolation` capability, invalidating this PR's premise. cursor declares harness-worktree and codex/opencode/kimi/ kimi-code declare orchestrator-worktree, so a `RUNTIME != claude` gate blocked a supported configuration on five runtimes and false-warned in health. - settings.md + health.md read `query dispatch-isolation` and branch on `ISOLATION = none`; the runtime-name read is gone from both, and the capability read needs no per-runtime stamping (it fail-closes unknown/ undocumented internally) - all "Claude Code-only primitive" prose rewritten, including the two gates the shell-syntax check missed (config-key list, JSON schema comment) - W024 reconciled across health.md + CONFIGURATION.md + planning-config.md (docs still said W020, which collides with a verify.cts code) - health.md error-codes table fixed: the namespace note no longer sits between rows orphaning I001 - the asymmetry note for the two workflows #2584 has not migrated (quick.md, diagnose-issues.md) is enforced by a set-equality test with a self-check table, so it cannot go stale in either direction Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs(#2486): restore the Executor isolation section clobbered by #2661 `46ba02ac` (feat(#2630), the current next tip) reverted docs/CONFIGURATION.md to a pre-#2584 state: it restored the old "Non-Claude note" wording on the workflow.use_worktrees row and deleted the whole "Executor isolation per runtime" section. The change is unrelated to that PR's phase-estimation feature and looks like a stale-copy edit. This PR's use_worktrees row links to #executor-isolation-per-runtime, so the deletion leaves a dangling anchor. Restored byte-for-byte from |

fix(#2652): gate quick/diagnose dispatch on dispatch.isolation, not the runtime name (#2728)
* fix(#2652): gate quick/diagnose dispatch on dispatch.isolation, not runtime name quick.md and diagnose-issues.md kept the pre-#2584 `RUNTIME != "claude"` worktree gate, so every non-Claude runtime failed closed regardless of the capability it negotiated — including Codex, which declares orchestrator-worktree. Route both through the negotiated dispatch.isolation seam via a new shared reference, and migrate the two execute-phase reference fragments that carried the same runtime-name gate. - new gsd-core/references/dispatch-isolation-gate.md: canonical ISOLATION resolution, harness-flag resolution, single-agent degrade rule - quick.md / diagnose-issues.md read the gate; dispatch uses the {harnessFlag} placeholder rather than a hardcoded isolation="worktree" - execute-phase-wave-guard.md / execute-phase-between-wave-reset.md: migrate [ "$RUNTIME" = "claude" ] -> [ "$ISOLATION" = "harness-worktree" ] - every degrade site now clears BOTH USE_WORKTREES and ISOLATION; clearing one dispatched an isolated agent with no base guard and no manifest - parity guard in host-integration.test.cjs scans workflows AND references and matches six reintroduction shapes - migrate four tests that pinned the pre-#2584 runtime-name contract Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#2652): use the /gsd:<cmd> namespace in the isolation degrade messages The degrade warnings cited /gsd-execute-phase, the retired hyphen form that slash-command-namespace.test.cjs rejects in Claude-facing source. Same length, so the quick.md size budget is unaffected. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore(#2652): add changeset for PR #2728 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#2652): normalize dispatch-site paths to forward slashes for Windows path.relative() returns backslash-separated paths on Windows, so the #2652 dispatch-site parity test compared "gsd-core\workflows\quick.md" against the hardcoded forward-slash literal "gsd-core/workflows/quick.md" and failed on every windows-latest CI lane. Normalize with .replace(/\\/g, '/'), matching the existing convention used elsewhere in this suite (e.g. tests/branch-no-track-guard.test.cjs:37). * test(#2652): restore the size-growth acknowledgment The rebase dropped tests/emitted-drift-ack.json. #2757/#2758 fixed the ATTRIBUTION axis, but the SIZE-GROWTH axis is independent: diagnose-issues.md (+2086) and quick.md (+230) still need an ack naming them and saying why. Verified: 65/66 without it (both files named), 66/66 with it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#2652): convert execute-plan.md Pattern A onto the dispatch-isolation gate Pattern A hardcoded `isolation="worktree"` — Claude Code's own literal — gated only on `workflow.use_worktrees`, with no capability negotiation at all. It is the same defect #2652 fixes at the other four sites, just a different shape: the file contains no RUNTIME variable, so the new detector correctly does not flag it. Concrete break: a Codex user who follows this PR's own newly-documented pattern and sets `workflow.use_worktrees: true` to get isolated dispatch via /gsd:quick then runs a plan through /gsd-execute-plan Pattern A, and hits an unconverted path — either an Agent() call erroring on an unrecognized parameter or silent unisolated execution, depending on host tolerance. Pattern A is a single-agent dispatch site through the host's own subagent tool, so it takes the same treatment as quick.md and diagnose-issues.md: resolve ISOLATION/HARNESS_FLAG through the canonical reference, degrade to sequential on orchestrator-worktree hosts, and substitute the host's declared {harnessFlag} instead of Claude Code's literal. while the area was open. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs(#2652): add the INVENTORY row for dispatch-isolation-gate.md, refresh CONTEXT Two bookkeeping gaps flagged in review: INVENTORY.md had no row for the new gsd-core/references/dispatch-isolation-gate.md. INVENTORY-MANIFEST.json was regenerated correctly and its --check only diffs a live directory scan against the committed manifest, so CI passed regardless — but gen-inventory-manifest.cjs's own stderr guidance says to add the matching INVENTORY.md row. This is the repo's named "Inventory Drift" pattern. Placed with the dispatch/isolation cluster (worktree-branch-check, runtime-aware-dispatch) rather than alphabetically, matching how that table is grouped. CONTEXT.md's Host-Integration Interface entry still described dispatch.isolation as "declared and negotiated but not yet consumed by any scheduler — Phase 1 of #2584". That was already stale before this PR (execute-phase graduated in Phase 3) and more so now with three single-agent dispatch sites consuming it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(#2652): detect reversed-operand runtime gates; add a permutation property All five reintroduction regexes assumed $RUNTIME on the LEFT of the comparison, so `[ "claude" != "$RUNTIME" ]` — the same gate written backwards — evaded every one of them. Verified against the old patterns before fixing: all four reversed shapes (single bracket, double bracket, test builtin, JS template) scored EVADED. Each comparison shape is now generated in both operand orders from a single template, so a shape cannot be added in one order and forgotten in the other. The mutation table gains the four reversed cases. Also adds the fast-check property review suggested in place of the hand-rolled cases: it generates the cross product of the axes an author actually varies — bracket form, operator, operand order, quoting, spacing, runtime id — so a permutation the hand-written patterns miss surfaces here rather than in production. The 11 explicit cases stay as named regression anchors. execute-plan.md joins the scan's required-identities list now that it is a converted dispatch site. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(#2652): acknowledge the execute-plan.md size growth The Pattern A conversion adds 811 bytes to an emitted workflow. Per #2719 the size axis needs its own acknowledgment, independent of attribution. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(#2652): repin the execute-plan.md PROSE_ALLOWLIST line after the rebase The #2751 command-position gate pins its prose exemptions by line number. This branch inserts the dispatch-isolation resolution above the `validated downstream by gsd-tools uat classify-coverage` sentence, moving it from execute-plan.md:387 to :397 — which fired the gate twice for one displacement (an un-allowlisted mention at 397, a stale entry at 387). The prose itself is unchanged from next; only the pin moves. Fixes #2652 * fix(#2652): gate the #2649 base-check on ISOLATION in diagnose-issues.md The rebase onto next merged #2649's pre-dispatch base-check textually, but its degrade flipped USE_WORKTREES after ISOLATION was already resolved, so the degrade never reached the dispatch decision. Gate the block on ISOLATION = "harness-worktree" and degrade ISOLATION itself, the same pairing quick.md already uses. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#2652): key quick.md post-dispatch bookkeeping on ISOLATION, not the Claude literal Review Blocker: the manifest append (l.822), worktree merge-back (l.825), and its skip clause (l.839) all conditioned on the literal isolation="worktree" — Claude Code's own rendering of {harnessFlag}. Cursor renders --worktree, so a newly-unblocked isolated Cursor run created a worktree whose committed work was never merged back and never cleaned up, silently. All three now key on ISOLATION = "harness-worktree" at dispatch. The existing parity detector cannot catch this class (its ISOLATION_TOKEN treats the literal as a legitimate marker), so this adds a dedicated literal-condition detector with a discrimination proof against both pre-fix sentences, a benign-mention control, and a positive pin on all three re-keyed conditions. Verified fail-first against the pre-fix quick.md. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#2652): scope the use_worktrees=false install stamp to isolation=none runtimes `_stampNonClaudeRuntimeDefaults` rewrote every non-Claude runtime's `workflow.use_worktrees` read to `--default false`. That default resolved before `gsd_run query dispatch-isolation` was ever consulted, so the five runtimes that declare worktree support — cursor (harness-worktree) and codex/opencode/kimi/kimi-code (orchestrator-worktree) — got ISOLATION=none regardless of what they negotiated. The gate this PR migrates dispatch onto was therefore still deciding isolation by runtime name, one layer down. The stamp's #1521 premise was that worktree isolation *was* Claude Code's isolation="worktree" spawn parameter, which no other host honored. #2584 replaced that premise with the negotiated capability. The stamp is now scoped to runtimes whose negotiated isolation really is `none`, where the default it writes is the outcome the resolver reaches anyway. `_negotiatedDispatchIsolation` mirrors routeDispatchIsolation's resolution against the same registry — closed vocabulary, a harness-worktree host must declare its flag, an orchestrator-worktree host must carry a descriptor that resolves — and fails closed to `none` on anything else, so an undeclared or unknown runtime keeps today's behavior. Two #1515 tests pinned the superseded premise for codex and are re-pointed at the new contract rather than deleted: the safety property they protect is now held by the isolation gate's fail-closed resolution, not by a name-scoped install-time default. Verified fail-first — all five assertions red against the pre-fix source, green after. * test(#2652): acknowledge the emitted ripple and re-point the end-to-end stamp proof Scoping the use_worktrees stamp changes emitted output, and two gates caught it. `gsd-core/workflows/execute-phase.md` now differs at emit time for the five hosts that declare worktree support (cursor harness-worktree; codex, opencode, kimi, kimi-code orchestrator-worktree) — the source file is byte-identical, only the stamp is gone. Acknowledged in this PR's fragment. `tests/install.test.cjs`'s real-install assertion pinned the superseded premise end-to-end, asserting codex receives `--default false`. Re-pointed rather than deleted, matching the two unit tests: it now proves codex keeps the unstamped `true` read. A second arm installs windsurf — which declares isolation `none` — and asserts the false stamp is still applied there, so the change cannot silently degrade into "never stamp" without a test noticing. The ack entry collides with `2658-trae-instruction-file-path.json`, which is fully spent (merged via #2925, so all 25 of its entries are present at base and gate nothing) and is pruned for the same reason and by the same rule as the spent `2649-*` fragment this PR already removed. #2566 prunes the same file for the same collision on `new-project.md`; a delete/delete merges cleanly either way, and the base-side cleanup would make both unnecessary. * fix(#2652): re-record the sentinel when a dispatch site degrades isolation Review Blocker B1/B2/B3. Every isolation degrade in a dispatch site is decided in shell, where routeDispatchIsolation cannot see it. That resolver persists whatever it resolved to the run-scoped sentinel as an unconditional side effect (#3045), so a degrade that only reassigns $ISOLATION leaves the sentinel asserting harness-worktree while the dispatch correctly omits the harness flag. The shipped PreToolUse guard reads the sentinel at the instant of the Agent() call and denies that mismatch with exit 2 — the work does not run unisolated, it does not run at all. Latent on this branch and lands on rebase, since |

test(#3090): stop exempting violations under categories that do not fit
An allow-test-rule annotation citing a category that does not apply is worse than no annotation, because it reads as reviewed. Eight were confirmed by reading the assertions each one covered, and auditing the rest found five more plus one refutation — a converter test whose wording described the wrong mechanism while the covered assertion genuinely was deployed-text. The instructive one used the CANONICAL string for the same mistake: STATE.md command output labelled as a deployed artifact. A canonical string is not evidence the category fits, which is why normalising strings alone would have laundered the problem rather than fixed it. Every mapping the audit had inferred rather than code-verified was spot-checked before rewriting, and the ones that turned out not to fit were re-annotated rather than relabelled. Fourteen STATE.md assertions had a typed extractor available all along and now use it; their annotations came out because nothing needs exempting. Eight assertions genuinely need a production change first — CLI stdout and stderr with no structured mode — and are tagged pending-migration-to-typed-ir citing #3090, which is what that category is for. It had zero real uses before this, while one file carried a real citation to migration issue #2974 under a non-canonical tag. Six annotations covered assertions that do no text matching at all. An exemption for a violation that does not exist is noise that makes the real ones harder to audit; those are removed. atomic-write-coverage gains the annotation it always warranted — its own docstring describes a structural-regression-guard while the file carried none. Fifty-nine non-canonical strings across roughly thirty files are normalised, and the allow-test-rule allowlist is regenerated to match. 472 annotations became 463: every one now uses a canonical category, and the two remaining non-canonical strings are ESLint RuleTester fixtures, not annotations. feat(#2584): Phase 3 — scheduler consumer + isolation adapters (#2635)
Final phase of #2584 (ADR-1239 Codex-binding amendment). execute-phase now negotiates dispatch.isolation and dispatches through the matching adapter, so a wave's independent plans run concurrently on six runtimes instead of one — with no runtime=== branch in the scheduler. harness-worktree passes the host's declared isolation flag (claude, cursor); orchestrator-worktree creates the worktree via the Phase-2 verb and spawns the executor into it with the resolved argv/cwd (codex, opencode, kimi, kimi-code); none stays sequential. Undeclared/unknown/unresolvable isolation degrades to none — never an unisolated parallel run. Fixes two shipped Phase-2 descriptors that per-host research found would fail at spawn: kimi lacked its headless flag (would launch the interactive TUI and hang the orchestrator), and kimi-code named a non-existent binary (Kimi Code installs as 'kimi'). Adds the worktree-path root confinement Phase 2 deferred here, and leading-dash guards on the resolver's prompt/cwd matching the existing git-argument guard. feat(#2095): migrate Kimi CLI onto EoS imperative adapter + native hook-bus + background dispatch (ADR-1239)
Fold all runtime==='kimi'/isKimi logic branches into descriptor-driven hostBehaviors (localInstallDeferred, verificationStyle, agentManifestStyle, reapplyCommand, doneBannerStyle) + add 'kimi' to _DESCRIPTOR_AGENTS_RUNTIMES. Kimi's skills/kimi-agents dispatch was already descriptor-driven (converter-by- name + kimi-agents kind). Zero isKimi/runtime==='kimi' branches remain. UPGRADE 1 (native hook bus): new hooksSurface 'kimi-hooks-toml' + a marker- delimited config.toml [[hooks]] emitter (buildKimiHooksTomlBlock/writeKimiHooksToml in runtime-hooks-surface.cts; resolveKimiHooksTomlDir in runtime-homes.cts). GSD's lifecycle hooks now wire into Kimi's native ~/.kimi/config.toml (Context7- confirmed path) at SessionStart/PreToolUse/Stop/PreCompact/SubagentStart/ SubagentStop — kimi becomes a hooks/ consumer (the 3 && !isKimi exclusion guards removed). config.toml holds absolute install paths so it's golden-excluded via an exact relative-path (.kimi/config.toml), not a basename (which would blind Codex's config.toml). New hooksSurface value added to the closed enum in capability-validator + runtime-config-adapter-registry. UPGRADE 2 (background dispatch): flip dispatch.backgroundDispatch true (Kimi's Agent tool takes run_in_background; root agent already gets the Agent tool), so negotiation no longer flattens dispatch. subagentToolkit stays 'undocumented' per AC (coder/explore/plan have distinct tool policies). MCP transport explicitly deferred (no installer-driven MCP for any runtime). Golden: only kimi.json changes (hooks/ scripts now installed); all 15 others + claude-local byte-identical (kilo/zcode keep their own exclusions). Tests: kimi-imperative-reference (adapter/axes/fail-closed/hostBehaviors + source-grep guard) + kimi-upgrades (config.toml [[hooks]] SessionStart + marker idempotency + backgroundDispatch negotiation). CONTEXT.md glossary + matrix + how-to updated; changeset (Added). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(#2094): migrate Trae onto EoS imperative adapter + SOLO stage-metadata upgrade (ADR-1239)
Fold trae logic branches into descriptor-driven reads: skipSharedHooksInstall gates (dropped && !isTrae), and the case 'trae' path-rewrite arm now computes the self-alias from the descriptor-driven dirName (.trae). Dead isTrae bindings removed from uninstall/writeManifest/finishInstall. trae's skills dispatch was already descriptor-driven (converter-by-name). RUNTIME_CONTENT_DISPATCH.trae is left as a runtime-keyed table registration (its regex/callback rewrites can't be a byte-identical descriptor map — matches cursor/windsurf/cline). trae stays in RUNTIME_FLAG_IDS: isTrae still gates the agents-converter selection (agents out of scope; removal gated on the cross-runtime agents-dispatch migration). Byte-identical golden parity for all 16 runtimes. UPGRADE: SOLO stage/trigger metadata — emitted Trae SKILL.md now carries stage: workflow (descriptor-gated via hostBehaviors.soloStageMetadata) so Trae's SOLO Agent can auto-invoke GSD skills at the corresponding stage. Field shape is best-effort/inferred (Trae publishes no formal schema). trae.json golden regenerated. Tests: trae-imperative-reference (adapter/axes/fail-closed shouldFlattenDispatch + no runtime==='trae' source-grep, isTrae exempted for agents) + trae-upgrades (stage: workflow on installed SKILL.md, descriptor-gated). Matrix note + changeset added. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(#2093): migrate Kilo onto EoS imperative adapter + hook-bus/model/MCP/dispatch upgrades (ADR-1239)
Fold remaining isKilo logic branches into descriptor-driven reads: finishPermissionWriter (uninstall cleanup), skipSharedHooksInstall (hooks copy), and a skills converter-name registry (the artifactLayout.converter field is now load-bearing, not decorative). frontmatterDialect stays the documented dispatch key for frontmatter (no descriptor field for it). Dead isKilo destructure bindings removed. Byte-identical golden parity for all 16 runtimes (opencode, which shares kilo's combined-family path, verified clean). UPGRADE 1 (hook bus): install .kilo/plugins/gsd-core.js native plugin + extensionEvents:"kilo" + EXTENSION_EVENT_SURFACES.kilo (OpenCode-fork bus). UPGRADE 2 (active model): populate runtimeTierDefaults.kilo + thread modelOverride through convertClaudeToKiloFrontmatter — model no longer stripped from agents. UPGRADE 3 (MCP): document the gsd-core MCP companion under kilo's mcp config key. UPGRADE 4 (named dispatch): agents/*.md mode:subagent roster is the Task-tool dispatch surface (tested); subagentToolkit stays 'undocumented' per AC so dispatch degrades to 'degraded' by design. Model-catalog single-source edit ripples the shared model-catalog.json hash into all 16 golden fixtures (expected). Inline defect fixes (no-defer): stale- bake-guard resolveAgentDir 'agent'->'agents' (was a silent no-op for opencode/ codex), hardcoded 'Removed OpenCode plugin' uninstall log -> generic, and the connect-gsd-mcp-server.md OpenCode mcpServers->mcp doc error. Tests: kilo-imperative-reference (adapter/axes/fail-closed/degradation/ hostBehaviors + widened isKilo source-grep across 4 modules) + kilo-upgrades (plugin parity+load, model-override converter, agents dispatch surface, MCP doc). Matrix + how-to + config docs updated; changeset added. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(#1928): remove sunset Gemini CLI runtime, redirect to Antigravity (#1996)
* feat(#1928): remove sunset gemini cli runtime, redirect to antigravity Google sunset Gemini CLI on 2026-06-18; Antigravity CLI is its official successor (already a first-class GSD runtime). Remove the gemini runtime from the enum (16->15), aliases, labels, config-home fragment, install path, converters (convertClaudeToGemini{Markdown,Toml,Agent}, convertSlashCommandsToGeminiMentions), capability descriptor, gemini-extension.json, RULESET.GEMINI.*, and the interactive menu (renumbered, no gap). --gemini now prints an explicit deprecation notice citing the 2026-06-18 sunset and redirects to --antigravity (no silent alias, per the issue's Hyrum's-Law rejection). Antigravity is preserved throughout: its GEMINI.md contextFileName, .gemini/antigravity config home, the shared convertGeminiToolName/claudeToGeminiTools tool vocabulary, and the 'gemini' hookEvents dialect it declares. test(#1977): consolidate 22 misc + repo-invariant regression tests
Final epic-#1969 batch. Fold 22 issue-named files: the 4 genuine repo-wide invariant scans (551-eslint-bin-lib-coverage, bug-3054 stale /gsd-next, bug-3810 no-gsd-sdk-runtime-refs, feat-3593 cli-negative-universal) into a NEW shared repo-invariants.test.cjs; the other 18 as singletons into their nearest module suite (model-resolver, codex-config, runtime-converters, security, state-transition, worktree-safety, roadmap-parser, etc.). Verbatim block-scoped describe wrappers; 334 subtests conserved 1:1. Host-env pre-check (B2+B6): the 6 CLI folds into GSD_TEST_MODE-setting hosts (model-resolver/ codex-config/runtime-converters) are benign — each origin independently sets GSD_TEST_MODE=1 itself (idempotent), unlike the B6 real-install case. Regenerates regression-name allowlist (222->213), ratchets file-count allowlist (state 17->16), makes 7 relocated allow-test-rule exemptions issue-ref-compliant (ADR-456; prunes stale ids). Repoints 2 tests/ refs in docs/TESTING-SUITES.md. lint:ci green. Part of epic #1969. Closes #1977. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

test(#1972): consolidate 94 command/module regression tests into subject suites
Fold 94 issue-named command/module regression files into the canonical test file that owns each subject-under-test, across 52 existing suites (state, config, frontmatter, roadmap-parser, capability-registry, shell-command-projection-dispatch, plan-phase-drift-guard, health-validation, runtime-converters, commands, etc.). Verbatim block-scoped describe wrappers; 881 subtests conserved 1:1. No new test files. Host-env pre-check (per B2): the only GSD_WORKSTREAM/GSD_PROJECT-touching destinations (intel, planning-workspace) clear those vars hermetically, so folded CLI tests are safe. Regenerates regression-name allowlist (222->162), ratchets file-count allowlist across 8 buckets (validate entry removed after dropping <=2), makes 34 relocated allow-test-rule exemptions issue-ref-compliant (ADR-456; prunes 34 stale ids). Repoints CONTEXT.md + ADR-0002/443/1235/3524 test-file references. lint:ci green. Part of epic #1969. Closes #1972. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

test(#1394): assert Gemini tool exclusion via exported converter, not internal
The back-merge of next carried #1559/#1565 (audit installer compatibility
exports), which removed convertGeminiToolName from bin/install.js's
module.exports. This PR's regression test destructured it from
require('../bin/install.js'), so after the merge it was undefined →
"TypeError: convertGeminiToolName is not a function" across all test lanes.
Rewrite the regression to assert the user-visible behavior through the
still-exported convertClaudeToGeminiAgent: a Skill/SlashCommand/AskUserQuestion
tools entry must not appear in the emitted Gemini frontmatter (the lowercase
fallback would emit invalid tool names that abort agent load — #1394/#3362),
while mapped tools (Read→read_file, WebFetch→web_fetch) survive. Folds the
dropped AskUserQuestion/ask_user coverage into the behavior test and removes
the internal-function import, so the test no longer depends on a private export
#1559 intentionally pruned. The exclusion fix itself is unchanged.

test(#1394): exercise the live bin/install.js convertGeminiToolName, add ask_user assertion
Addresses review: the regression unit test required the tsc build artifact (gsd-core/bin/lib/runtime-artifact-conversion.cjs) instead of the live install path. Destructure convertGeminiToolName from the existing ../bin/install.js import so a stale build can't false-green while the live copy is broken, and assert the full AskUserQuestion/ask_user exclusion group. fix(#1394): exclude Skill/SlashCommand from the Gemini agent tool converter
convertGeminiToolName lowercased any unmapped Claude tool, so Skill and SlashCommand became an invalid `skill`/`slashcommand` tool name. Gemini CLI has no such built-in tool, so frontmatter validation failed (tools.N: Invalid tool name) and aborted the entire agent load — 22 of 34 GSD agents were dead on Gemini. Add Skill and SlashCommand to the same `return null` exclusion branch that already handles AskUserQuestion, in both the canonical src converter and the hand-maintained bin/install.js copy that runs on the live --gemini install path. Antigravity reuses this converter (it runs on the Gemini backend) and is intentionally covered by the same exclusion — it surfaces GSD skills via the skill surface (SKILL.md), not the agent tools: allowlist — locked by an added Antigravity regression test. enh(#784): emit native skills for OpenCode + Kilo runtimes (#810)
* feat(#784): emit native skills for OpenCode + Kilo runtimes OpenCode and Kilo share a config schema and both discover on-demand skills from skills/<name>/SKILL.md. The installer previously emitted only flat commands (command/) and file-based agents (agents/) for these runtimes. Add a shared OpenCode-family skill writer that stages each GSD command as a spec-compliant SKILL.md (name matching the directory, description 1-1024 chars), wired through the runtime artifact layout so uninstall cleans skills/ automatically. Skills respect the active install profile. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#784): correct skill body paths + preserve user dev-preferences Address adversarial-review findings: - Add opencode/kilo cases to _applyRuntimeRewrites so staged SKILL.md bodies are re-pointed from the converter's hardcoded default config dir to the actual install target (fixes --local / --config-dir installs; commands/agents already did this by applying pathPrefix pre-conversion). - Preserve user-owned skills/gsd-dev-preferences across reinstall in installOpencodeFamilySkills (snapshot+restore around the gsd-* prune), matching installRuntimeArtifacts. - Export installOpencodeFamilySkills and add regression tests. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(#784): guarantee command/skill body parity, fix kilo-alt double-rewrite Follow-up adversarial-review found the post-conversion path rewrite could double-rewrite custom Kilo dirs (kilo -> kilo-alt -> kilo-alt-alt) because the kilo pathPrefix is a $HOME (non-absolute) superset of the hardcoded default base. Restructure so OpenCode/Kilo skills mirror copyFlattenedCommands exactly: stage raw commands, apply pathPrefix BEFORE conversion via a new shared applyOpencodeFamilyPathPrefix() helper (now used by both the command and skill writers), then convert. This guarantees byte-for-byte command/ skill body parity for global, --local, and --config-dir installs and removes the prefix-overlap hazard. Drop the fragile _applyRuntimeRewrites opencode/ kilo case. Strengthen the path regression test. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * refactor(#784): derive opencode/kilo skills from the same staged command set Pass the installer's _stageSkills() output directly to installOpencodeFamilySkills instead of re-staging via the layout, so the command/ and skills/ surfaces always cover the identical profile-resolved set — including the --minimal/--core-only alias path, which stages differently from a plain --profile=core. Verified: minimal install now emits 8 commands and 8 skills. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore(#784): set changeset PR number to 810 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(#784): fully escape backslashes in test helper (CodeQL js/incomplete-string-escaping) Replace the dot-only escape `replace(/[.]/g, '\\.')` with a complete regex-escape pattern `replace(/[\\.*+?^${}()|[\]]/g, '\\$&')` so all regex metacharacters (including backslash itself) in `defaultBase` are safely escaped before interpolation into `new RegExp(...)`. fix: embed model_overrides in Codex TOML and OpenCode agent files (#2279)
* docs: sync ARCHITECTURE.md command count to 74 commands/gsd/ has 74 .md files; the two count references in ARCHITECTURE.md still said 73. Fixes the command-count-sync regression test. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix: embed model_overrides in Codex TOML and OpenCode agent files (#2256) Codex and OpenCode use static agent files (TOML / markdown frontmatter) rather than inline Task(model=...) parameters, so model_overrides set in ~/.gsd/defaults.json was silently ignored — all subagents fell through to the runtime's default model. Fix: at install time, read model_overrides from ~/.gsd/defaults.json and embed the matching model ID into each agent file: - Codex: model = "..." field in the agent TOML (generateCodexAgentToml) - OpenCode: model: ... field in agent frontmatter (convertClaudeToOpencodeFrontmatter) Also adds readGsdGlobalModelOverrides() helper and passes the result through installCodexConfig() and the OpenCode agent install loop. Closes #2256 Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(commands): add gsd:inbox command for GitHub issue/PR triage inbox.md was created but not committed, causing the command count to read 73 in git while ARCHITECTURE.md correctly stated 74. refactor(tests): standardize to node:assert/strict and t.after() per CONTRIBUTING.md (#1675)
* refactor(tests): standardize to node:assert/strict and t.after() per CONTRIBUTING.md
- Replace require('node:assert') with require('node:assert/strict') across
all 73 test files to enforce strict equality (no type coercion)
- Replace try/finally cleanup blocks with t.after() hooks in core.test.cjs
and hooks-opt-in.test.cjs per the test lifecycle standards
- Utility functions in codex-config and security-scan retain try/finally
as that is appropriate for per-function resource guards, not lifecycle hooks
Closes #1674

* perf(tests): add --test-concurrency=4 to test runner for parallel file execution
Node.js --test-concurrency controls how many test files run as parallel child
processes. Set to 4 by default, configurable via TEST_CONCURRENCY env var.
Fixes tests at a known level rather than inheriting os.availableParallelism()
which varies across CI environments.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(security): allowlist verify.test.cjs in prompt-injection scanner
tests/verify.test.cjs uses <human>...</human> as GSD phase task-type
XML (meaning "a human should verify this step"), which matches the
scanner's fake-message-boundary pattern for LLM APIs. This is a
false positive — add it to the allowlist alongside the other test files
that legitimately contain injection-adjacent patterns.

fix: universal agent name replacement for non-Claude runtimes (#766) (#1195)
* fix: universal agent name replacement for non-Claude runtimes (#766) Adds neutralizeAgentReferences() shared function that all non-Claude runtime converters call to replace Claude-specific references: - 'Claude' (standalone agent name) → 'the agent' - 'CLAUDE.md' → runtime-specific file (AGENTS.md, GEMINI.md, COPILOT.md) - Removes 'Do NOT load full AGENTS.md' (harmful for AGENTS.md runtimes) Preserves: 'Claude Code' (product), 'Claude Opus/Sonnet/Haiku' (models), 'claude-' prefixes (packages, CSS classes). Integrated into: OpenCode, Gemini, Copilot, Antigravity, and Codex converters. Claude Code converter unchanged (references are correct). Includes 7 new tests covering all replacement rules. Closes #766 * fix: use copilot-instructions.md instead of COPILOT.md for Copilot runtime Addresses review from Solvely-Colin: Copilot's actual instruction file is copilot-instructions.md, not COPILOT.md. The neutralizer was mapping CLAUDE.md -> COPILOT.md which would reference a non-existent file. - install.js: pass 'copilot-instructions.md' to neutralizeAgentReferences - runtime-converters.test.cjs: update test to validate correct filename |

fix: remove model:inherit from OpenCode agent conversion (#1156)
OpenCode does not recognize 'model: inherit' as a valid model identifier — it throws ProviderModelNotFoundError when spawning any GSD subagent. Changes: - Remove 'model: inherit' injection for OpenCode agents in install.js - Strip 'model:' field entirely during OpenCode frontmatter conversion (OpenCode uses its configured default model when no model is specified) - Update tests to verify model: inherit is NOT added This fixes all 15 GSD agent definitions and the gsd-set-profile command for OpenCode users.
