+# Phase 18 Plan 07: Unit tests and the phase gate Summary
+
+**The phase 18 suites in four repositories now run behind one fail-closed gate: the 63 paymentgateway and 9 pgstripe PHP tests ported case by case, the 228-pair order and 30-pair payment matrices, every MoneyRight vector, and the PG and STRIPE security suites. The tests exposed three production bugs, all fixed. `check-phase18.sh --all` is green with postgres run, and phase 18 is published with framework tag v0.1.25.**

+## Performance
+

+## Accomplishments
+
+- **The gate (`scripts/check-phase18.sh`).** It has the stages go, plugins, admin, layers, docs and postgres, plus `--self-test`, `--all` and `PHASE18_REQUIRE_POSTGRES`. It requires named tests per repository and package: 13 cabana unit tests, 9 cabana Postgres tests, 13 plugin packages, 22 plugin Postgres suites, 6+3 pgstripe tests, 47 admin vitest names and all 69 layer TAP names. It refuses a fail, a skip, zero tests, "no tests to run", a missing name, a vitest todo or a TAP `not ok`. It also runs the docs checker, the OpenAPI check, the dist check and the phase 10 hygiene check.
+- **Framework.** New unit tests cover the money compile gates, the model column gate, the save-time value check and the list projection. They also cover the secret projection and put, settings tabs and richeditor, and the danger flag. On Postgres they cover the money save round trip, secrets against the real table, and the phase 18 payload cases in the OpenAPI conformance test. The vitest additions are the money helpers spec and three MoneyField cases.
+- **sm-paymentgateway-plugin.** It now has 35 new top-level tests, 60 in total. Every PHP test method is ported one to one, with its origin in a comment. The new tests cover:
+  - the matrices, money and Amount4;
+  - the cart, item, details and legacy fixtures;

+  - hashids against 24 PHP-generated vectors, guest tokens, redaction and amount text;

+  On Postgres they cover the payments service, every refund bridge branch, one event per transition, migrations up/down/up against the schema, the sweep boundaries and converter auto-create.
+- **sm-pgstripe-plugin.** The new tests are `TestStripeAuthentication`, `TestStripeDataHandling`, `TestSDKPin` and `TestStripeOperator`. The operator test checks request bodies, every PaymentIntent status, Stripe errors, minor-unit amounts, the checkout mode, the browser-return shape and the mode keys with the config fallback, all against an httptest Stripe.
+- **vue-paymentgateway-layer.** Four new spec files with 21 tests. PgConfirm is driven through a minimal custom Vue renderer, so the modal, the focus handling and Esc are tested under `node --test`.
+- **Validation.** 18-VALIDATION.md has `status: validated`, `nyquist_compliant: true` and `wave_0_complete: true`, every row green, the gate record and the fixture status.

+## Gate results
+
+`PHASE18_REQUIRE_POSTGRES=1 bash scripts/check-phase18.sh --all` printed `phase-gate-ok`. Every stage passed: self-test, go, plugins, admin, layers, docs and postgres. postgres ran on this Docker host, so nothing is recorded NOT RUN.

+## PHP test map (D-02)
+
+72 of 74 cases are ported.
+
+- **Paymentgateway, 63 cases.** These cover unit Cart, Item, Details, ExtendedStateMachine and FactoryConfiguration; functional Cart, Item, PaymentFiniteStateMachine, PaymentModule, Payment and Shipping; and security AccessControl, DataHandling and State. Each Go test names its PHP origin. The distinct set of `PHP: tests/<file> <method>` comments equals the PHP suite's test methods.
+- **pgstripe, 9 cases.** AuthenticationTest (4) maps to `TestStripeAuthentication`. DataHandlingTest (5) maps to `TestStripeDataHandling` and `TestSDKPin`.
+- **Phase 18.1, 2 cases.** The two `ReliabilityTest` cases cover the subscription job's idempotency marker. `TestHostStripeFlow/replay_and_race` is this phase's idempotency evidence.
+
+## Fixture status (D-11)
+
+No host-exported shop rows were supplied. The reply at the 18-06 checkpoint was "fixtures: none". The one anonymized real row and the PHP-generated synthetic rows remain the evidence. `TestLegacyFixtures` decodes every `cart/testdata/legacy/*.json` after an anonymization check, so `shop-export-cart-<n>.json` and `shop-export-details-<n>.json` rows are covered when added. This is recorded in the plugin README and 18-VALIDATION.md.

+
+### Auto-fixed Issues
+
+**1. [Rule 1 - Bug] Money refused its own loaded value on a scale-2 field over a four-decimal column**
+- **Found during:** Task 2 (`TestMoneyFieldSave`)
+- **Issue:** The server serves `"12.5000"` for a `scale: 2` field stored in `numeric(10,4)`, which is the docs' `fee` example. An untouched save sent it back and got a 422 `money.too_precise`.
+- **Fix:** `validateMoneyValue` and the SPA's `parseMoneyInput` now count only significant fraction digits. The value still reaches the column unchanged, never rounded or truncated. Docs, cabana README and the rebuilt dist are in the same commit.

+**2. [Rule 1 - Bug] `money.Mul` wrapped int64 at basic precision**
+- **Found during:** Task 3 (`TestMoneyVectors`)
+- **Issue:** `fromScale5` multiplied the rounded value back by 100 without a range check. A product beyond int64 became a wrong amount, although the doc promises a panic with `ErrOverflow`.
+- **Fix:** The way back to scale 4 is checked; a regression assertion was added to `TestMoneyVectorsSmoke`.

+
+**3. [Rule 2 - Security, PG-006] Dashed api-key names were logged in clear**
+- **Found during:** Task 3 (`TestRedactor`)
+- **Issue:** `SensitiveKey` matched `api_key` and `apikey` but not `api-key`. With `log_requests` on, an `X-Api-Key` notification header was logged unmasked.
+- **Fix:** Dashes count as underscores before the match. The README's log_requests paragraph names the dashed form.
+- **Commit:** sm-paymentgateway-plugin `922fb1f`
+
+### Plan adjustments
+
+4. **No half-even or half-odd rounding tests.** The Go money package offers `RoundingGAAP` only, and no PHP caller of the gateway used MoneyRight's other modes. `TestMoneyRounding` pins half away from zero at both precisions, for positive and negative values, and the truncated five-place intermediate.
+5. **Test locations.** The Postgres suites (`TestMigrations`, `TestRefundBridge`, `TestPGCommands`, `TestPaymentsService`, `TestOrderAndPaymentEvents`, `TestCurrencyConverterPostgres`) sit in the plugin root with the testcontainers harness, not in updates/, orders/ or console/. The Docker-free tests sit in their packages: `TestImportWinter` and `TestPGCommandsDeadline` in console, `TestCustomerAPIAuthz` in api.
+6. **The mail gating matrix stays on Postgres.** The mailers read the settings through the event's transaction, so a Docker-free fake settings source would need a production change. `TestMailers` covers the pure helpers, and `TestMailersMatrixSmoke` remains the gating matrix.
+7. **Part of the Stripe operator is tested on Postgres.** `TestStripeOperator` is an internal Docker-free test of request building and status mapping. Refund parameters, the event table and the browser-return re-check need the settings row and the payment service, so they are covered by `TestHostStripeFlow` (refund, event_table, browser_return).
+8. **Redactor tests merged.** The plan 02 root `TestRedactor` only exercised `support` functions, and two tests with the same name made the plan's own verify count 7 instead of 6. Its cases were folded into `support.TestRedactor`, and the root copy was removed.
+9. **Cabana test names.** `TestMoneyFieldCompile` moved from payments_smoke_test.go to money_field_test.go and was extended. The model column gate became `TestMoneyFieldColumnGate`. Test-only wrappers were added in export_test.go.
+10. **Secrets compared by plaintext.** `TestSettingsSecretPostgres` compares the kept plaintext, not the ciphertext bytes, because a row save re-encrypts kept secrets with a fresh nonce. This is by design.
+11. **No RED step.** The tests characterize shipped behaviour, so TDD's RED step does not apply. Mutation spot checks turned their tests red: removing the secret projection, dropping the danger mapping, and disabling the money max comparison.
+
+**Total deviations:** 3 auto-fixed (2 bugs, 1 security), 8 plan adjustments. **Impact:** one small framework surface change (trailing zeros), shipped in v0.1.25 with docs and dist; two plugin fixes; every plan contract is otherwise unchanged.
+
+## Issues Encountered
+
+- The admin stage failed once while other sessions held the host load average at about 35: timeouts in unrelated specs. It passed on every rerun and in both full gate runs.
+- stripe-go accepts a future-dated signature timestamp. That matches Stripe's own libraries, and only the secret holder can sign one. The test case asserting otherwise was dropped as a wrong assumption.
+
+## Deferred Issues
+
+Recorded in `deferred-items.md`:
+- `cart.RegisterDetailsParams` stores a registration that no decoder reads. Typed details parameters need a design decision.
+- sm-paymentgateway-plugin's `mail_smoke_test.go` is not gofmt-clean. This predates plan 07.
+

+None. The register's mitigations are covered:
+- T-18-46: the anonymization check in `TestLegacyFixtures`, plus the e-mail-domain grep.

+## Next Phase Readiness
+
+- Phase 18 is complete and ready for `/msd-verify-work 18`, which runs `bash scripts/check-phase18.sh --all`.
+- Consumers can bump to summercms v0.1.25. The plugins still require v0.1.24 through a local replace; bumping them and tagging the plugins are separate decisions.
+- Phase 18.1 (subscriptions) owns the two pgstripe reliability cases.
