liftMLValues validated only object-shaped submissions, so a scalar
submitted for a translatable plugin field reached Decode as nil, a
float64 or a bool although pact promises a string; a type that asserts
a string panicked into an opaque 500. decodePluginFields now passes a
string through, turns null into the empty string and refuses any other
value with a 422 on the field before Decode runs.
The route called the type's Upload on the streamed part and only then
checked that no second part followed, so a refused request left a
public, unreferenced object in the bucket. It now reads the multipart
body whole (ReadForm, spooling past 8 MiB to a temporary file), checks
it holds exactly one file part named file, and only then calls Upload.
The remaining window (a failed record transaction after Upload, an
element that stopped waiting) is documented.
The field upload route ran only protect, so the create form of a
controller without the create toolbar button could still write files to
the public bucket. It now refuses with 403 where the save route would:
create for {id} 0, update otherwise (operationDeclared).
- MLPluginField wraps PluginField in the MLField locale switcher; the
element gets the active content locale and that locale's string
- isMLField treats a translatable plugin field as a locale map in the form
state, FormView adopt and the relation child modal
- summer-upload posts the file with the admin session to the field upload
route and answers summer-upload-result {id, url} or {id, error}
- noticeLines shows meta.notices under each field as a warning status line
(text only) and in the saved toast; the stored value is reloaded
- docs/backend/field-types.md documents the full element contract;
modules/boardwalk/dist rebuilt
- translatable types lift, store and hydrate through the ML path
(isMLField); Decode and Load run per locale and notices carry the locale
- on update a value equal to the served value (Load of the stored host
value or exact translation) is neither decoded nor written
- FieldWrite, FieldWritesFromContext and WithFieldWrites expose what a save
writes to the Form hooks
- list columns may use a plugin alias and show the type's ListValue
- POST .../{id}/fields/{field}/upload hands the file to the type's Upload
(guard, X-Requested-With, permissions, field context, record scope, body
cap); OpenAPI, route inventories, README and docs updated
- compileFieldTypes builds a per-boot field type registry (alias, core and
cross-plugin collisions, element prefix, assets, option keys) passed down
the compile functions; settings and relation forms refuse plugin aliases
- fields.yaml accepts a plugin alias with the general keys plus the type's
options (typeOptions, element, translatable in the schema); CheckOptions
runs at boot; CompileFormWithTypes for plugin tests
- save decodes plugin values inside the transaction (FormFieldError is a
422, other errors opaque 500) and answers meta.notices (FieldNotice) only
when a type reported something; show and save serve values through Load
- GET /field-types lists the types with versioned asset URLs; OpenAPI,
schema.d.ts, README and docs/backend/field-types.md updated
- Store list queries under summer-admin.list:<admin id>:<controller>; me()
and setCurrentUser set the owner, which removes other admins' keys and
the unscoped keys of older builds; nothing is read or written without one
- clearUser removes every stored query, so logout, session expiry and an
unrecoverable 401 (expireSession, now used by main.ts) all clear them
- A list request built from a restored query that fails for any reason
(422, 500, network) forgets the query and loads the plain list once
- A failing URL query keeps the error and offers a reset button
(backend::lang.list.reset_list, en and pl)
- Document remembered list state in docs/backend/lists-and-filters.md
- Rebuild modules/boardwalk/dist
- enabledContentLocales moves TranslationWriter.DefaultLocale to index 0
and keeps the other enabled codes in the writer's order
- every ML control opens on enabledLocales[0], so the form now shows the
host-column values (content, excerpt, title, slug) instead of an empty
non-default locale
- a DefaultLocale error is logged and keeps the writer's order
- README and forms docs: default locale first
- relationSubquery reads the pivot, key and table names from GORM's parsed
relationship (Schema.Relationships.Relations), never from a convention
- list search matches every relation column through a correlated EXISTS,
so the count query gains no JOIN and belongsToMany search stops failing
- sorting a hasMany or belongsToMany column orders by a correlated
string_agg subquery before the primary-key tiebreak
- polymorphic relations and unknown related columns answer 422
- DryRun smoke test TestListRelationSearchSmoke needs no Docker
- cabana.BackendUser is an attach.Owner (MorphName Backend\Models\User,
cabana.BackendUserMorphType) with one public attachOne avatar
(cabana.BackendUserAvatarField), as WinterCMS stores it
- POST /account/avatar stores one file_data image (jpg, jpeg, png, gif or
webp, image guard, at most cabana.AvatarMaxBytes = 2 MiB, under a
server-generated name) and replaces the previous avatar: old rows are
deleted in the transaction, their blobs after the commit
- DELETE /account/avatar removes the avatar and is idempotent
- GET /auth/me and the account routes return avatar {url, thumb_url}
(250x250 crop); cabana.BackendUserAvatar lets plugins read it
- swag annotations, regenerated admin.json and schema.d.ts; route
inventories, CSRF walk (29) and OpenAPI conformance learn both routes
- SPA: avatar upload and remove on My account, avatar image in the user
menu trigger and header; backend::lang.myaccount avatar strings
- rebuilt boardwalk dist; cabana README, users-and-permissions and
admin-spa docs
- lagoon: 202610090001_backend_users_metadata adds WinterCMS's nullable
jsonable backend_users.metadata column (TEXT); rollback drops only it
- cabana.BackendUser.Metadata and Subtitle read metadata.subtitle leniently
(NULL, blank, null, [], invalid JSON and non-strings read as empty)
- GET /auth/me returns subtitle; PUT /account edits the signed-in admin's
own names, email and subtitle, and the password with current_password;
any other key is a 422 and nothing is written
- email: required, valid, 6-255 chars, unique against other admins' email
and login ignoring case (soft-deleted included); a unique-index race is 422
- a password change sets tokens_valid_after, revokes the presented token and
gives a cookie session a fresh cookie
- swag annotation, regenerated admin.json and schema.d.ts; route inventories,
CSRF walk (27) and OpenAPI conformance learn the route
- SPA: My account item in the user menu opens /account (AccountView), which
saves through PUT /account and updates the top bar via setCurrentUser
- backend::lang.myaccount strings (en, pl), rebuilt boardwalk dist
- cabana and lagoon READMEs, users-and-permissions and admin-spa docs
- NewOptions.AdminSecret: summer new writes SUMMER_ADMIN__JWT__SECRET
to .env (still 0600), generated from 32 crypto/rand bytes when empty
and validated as at least 32 .env-safe characters
- .env.example gets an empty SUMMER_ADMIN__JWT__SECRET= placeholder
with a comment; the secret never reaches the printed next steps
- The next steps and the generated CLAUDE.md explain the admin at
/backend: make:admin-controller, build, migrate and
summer admin:create --email you@example.com --superuser
- Goldens use a fixed, non-secret admin secret fixture
- Scaffolding, installation and users-and-permissions docs updated
A settings entry with a controller opens that controller's route from
its card (settingsPath); singleton cards still open /settings/<code>.
On a linked controller with no navigation entry of its own the rail
marks Settings current, the breadcrumbs read Settings > entry label
(plus the record title on record and create routes) and the page title
uses the entry label. The settings docs describe the admin behaviour;
the embedded admin shell is rebuilt.
pact.SettingsItem gains an additive Controller field, the equivalent of a
WinterCMS registerSettings 'url' => Backend::url(...) entry. A link entry
declares no Model, Form or NewModel and needs no AdminFS; start-up fails
when it combines Controller with a singleton form or a model, or names an
unregistered controller. Settings codes stay one namespace.
GET /settings lists a link entry with its controller only when the
principal passes the item's permissions and may open the controller.
Registry.Setting never returns a link entry, so the singleton settings
endpoints answer 404 for its code. SettingsEntry carries controller,
empty for singletons; the OpenAPI document, generated SPA types and
settings fixture follow, and the pact and cabana READMEs and the
settings docs describe the link.
- schema_types.go and the form-schema swag description name text or mltext
- regenerated admin/openapi/admin.json and admin/src/api/schema.d.ts
- README and docs/backend/forms.md describe the per-locale rules
- MarkdownField posts the source to POST /markdown/preview when Preview
opens and again 300 ms after a change while open; stale answers dropped
- the pane binds only data.html of a 2xx answer; a refusal is a text notice
- mlmarkdown previews the active locale and follows a locale switch
- .summer-markdown style kit restores headings, lists, code and tables
- vitest coverage, forms.md and rebuilt modules/boardwalk/dist
- POST {prefix}/api/v1/markdown/preview renders {markdown} through
cabana.RenderMarkdown in the backend-guarded group behind requireAjax
- refused output is a 422 validation_failed on markdown with a fixed message
- swag annotation, regenerated admin.json and schema.d.ts
- route inventories, CSRF walk (26) and OpenAPI conformance learn the route
- README and docs/backend/forms.md document the route
Copy overwrote the active locale with the other locale's often-empty string, so the editor went blank. Keep a single synchronized locale picker.

UpdateChild and ShowChild now lift, apply, and hydrate nested locales the same way as host CRUD, so a child form keeps English on the column and Polish through the writer.

MLMarkdownField and relation-child forms share the enabled-locale
inject and adopt merge; OpenAPI, types, docs, and boardwalk dist match.

- Document markdown, mltext, and mlmarkdown plus TranslationWriter save semantics
- Extend the SPA registry tests and rebuild committed boardwalk dist

- acme-demo-lookup fixture is a reorder widget: a click reverses its items,
sends the new id order as detail.payload and renders the returned items from
the data attribute and the summer-result event with textContent, no HTTP
- partials-and-widgets gains a Widget element contract subsection listing the
attributes the SPA sets and the summer-action / summer-result events
- cabana README names both events in the form widgets bullet
- pact.AdminActionInput.Payload (json.RawMessage) carries the widget's own
JSON value untouched; pact.AdminActionResult.Data is passed through as data
- cabana decodes payload with a 64 KiB cap (422 on body), refuses it on the
toolbar and record routes, and embeds Data once encoded with a 256 KiB cap
(opaque 500 when larger or unencodable); fill stays filtered
- root .swaggo overrides json.RawMessage so swag keeps record_id and values;
admin.json and schema.d.ts regenerated (payload?: unknown, data?: unknown)
- TestWidgetPayloadAndData covers pass-through, cap, refusal and data 500
- cabana and pact READMEs, partials-and-widgets and admin-spa docs updated
- a relation lock covers the form field only; a relation manager on the same relation does not ask the provider
- a locked permission code must be stored with a value its mode can send
- FieldRelationContract.WritableForeignKey makes a belongsTo field over a
protected foreign key writable; the protected key list is unchanged
- cabana.RelationLockProvider names related ids an administrator may not add
or remove: options and labels carry locked, and a create or update that
changes the locked subset is 403 before any row is written
- columns.yaml invisible keeps a column searchable and out of the rows
- a controller implementing pact.FilterOptions serves a scope filter's
choices before the model
- SPA: locked chips and options in RelationField, DataTable skips invisible
columns
- README, docs, OpenAPI document, TS types and dist updated
- type: permissioneditor with mode radio (1, -1) or checkbox (1); the
controller serves the options per request through
cabana.PermissionEditorProvider and reads and stores the values
- a save answers 422 for a non-object, an unknown code or a value outside the
mode's set and 403 for a changed locked code; stored codes that are not
offered are kept
- record responses carry the stored permissions as an object
- SPA: PermissionEditorField with sections by tab, locked rows and a read-only
mode for the preview
- README, docs, OpenAPI document, TS types and dist updated
- pact.FormVirtualFields lists form fields that are not model columns: never
bound, filled or projected; their values reach the Form hooks through
cabana.VirtualFieldsFromContext when the field's context allows the operation
- type: password is a masked field that must be listed as virtual
- pact.FormRules supplies the rule set per operation and replaces the model's
Rules() for admin saves; a rule on a virtual field sees the submitted value
- preset on a text field follows another text field on the create form
- SPA: PasswordField, preset handling in FormView, empty password left out of
an update
- README, docs, OpenAPI document, TS types and dist updated
- config_form.yaml preview block (optional headerPartial), reported in the form schema as preview
- fields with context: preview show only on the preview screen and are never written
- form messages preview and edit; recordActions without a preview block stops boot
- SPA route {id}/preview, PreviewView and PreviewField, record actions in the footer
- mapWinterUrl maps preview/:id; the update form returns to the preview
- summer-callout partial style classes for status hints
- README, docs, OpenAPI document, TS types and the embedded build updated
- hooks and bulk, record, toolbar and widget actions may return it
- 403 forbidden with the localized message and field details; the write's
transaction is rolled back; other errors stay the opaque 500
- form shows a refused save as a persistent banner and keeps the values;
a refused delete is a toast
- smoke tests, OpenAPI notes, dist, README, docs
- pact.ListRowStates with the fixed RowState set deleted, negative, disabled
- list response meta.row_states keyed by row id; unknown values dropped
- list messages rowStateDeleted, rowStateNegative, rowStateDisabled
- update writes through the scope the load used, so a soft-deleted record
a controller includes stays soft-deleted
- DataTable row state badges and text styles
- roster fixture, smoke tests, OpenAPI, TS types, dist, READMEs, docs
- pact.HasAdminRecordActions with AdminRecordAction (Applies, Run)
- config_form.yaml recordActions, compiled fail-loud
- show response meta.actions lists the permitted actions that apply
- POST .../{controller}/{id}/actions/{action}: record loaded and locked
through the form scope; 404 out of scope, 409 when it does not apply
- RecordActions.vue with confirm and request flow (mounted by plan 02)
- roster fixture, smoke tests, OpenAPI, TS types, READMEs, docs
- pact.HasAdminBulkActions with AdminBulkAction, its input and result
- config_list.yaml bulkActions, compiled fail-loud, needs showCheckboxes
- POST .../{controller}/bulk/{action}: ids resolved and locked through the
list scope in one transaction; partial selection is 409
- list schema offers declared actions per principal, with confirm text
- admin SPA bulk actions menu with confirm, busy state and failure toasts
- acme.roster fixture, tracer test, OpenAPI, TS types, dist, READMEs, docs
BM UAT on v0.1.1 showed a date-only calendar for datetime fields, a stuck discard dialog, and raw ISO timestamps when columns.yaml omitted type. The picker now edits time in the popover, confirm sits above the calendar, and omitted time.Time / Date / TimeOfDay columns compile as datetime / date / time.

Keep form save behind in-flight uploads, make retries idempotent via X-Upload-Id, cap remaining JSON bodies, and surface pending pivot type errors instead of zeroing them.

- sessionKey.ts: one 32-byte base64url key per form mount, sent only in headers
- api/files.ts: FileRoutes over the record and child file routes, XHR upload with progress, 401 refresh and retry
- FileuploadField and FileCaptionModal per UI-SPEC section 3: dropzone, image grid, rows, per-item states, client pre-checks, reorder, protected previews
- FormView provides FORM_SESSION, counts pending changes as dirty and sends X-Session-Key on create and update
- fileupload lang keys in en and pl, admin-spa docs note, deferred smoke test, rebuilt dist
- record id 0 with X-Session-Key manages deferrable relations: create, link, unlink, delete and pivot edits are held in deferred_bindings
- the record's create save applies relation bindings with the file bindings; an ineligible link is a 422 on the relation-manager field
- child forms upload files through .../records/{child}/files/{field} keyed by X-Child-Session-Key; the child save commits them
- boot refuses a deferrable relation with create whose related model no plugin lists in Models()
- loadChild finds a child with one query carrying the parent predicate; a foreign child is 404
- GET/PUT .../records/{child} and POST .../delete (all or nothing) per relation kind
- hasMany link adopts NULL-key rows and unlink clears the key; pending created children are never candidates
- link accepts pivot values for one id through the pivot.form whitelist; GET/PUT .../pivot/{child}
- Link and Unlink share linkRelated/unlinkRelated for the deferred commit
- RelationContract gains Kind (empty is belongsToMany) and ForeignKey, with kind-aware boot checks
- manage.form, view.form and pivot.form compile against the related or pivot model; $/ paths resolve inside the plugin
- view toolbarButtons accept create|update|delete|link|unlink, each the capability of its routes
- POST .../relations/{name}/records creates a child through the manage form; the server sets the hasMany key
- relation schema carries kind, deferrable and the localized forms; 17 new relation message keys in en and pl
- type: datepicker compiles the D-20 keys; format maps to displayFormat with WinterCMS's momentFormat table
- boot fails when the mode does not match the column's Go type (time.Time, lagoon.Date, lagoon.TimeOfDay)
- datepicker is a writable scalar field; minDate and maxDate are rechecked on save
- columns.yaml accepts type: date and type: time; Scanner/Valuer structs are columns, not relations
- conformance fixture carries date and datetime fields; README, forms and lists docs
- DELETE, PUT and POST reorder under .../{id}/files/{field}, each scoped by one parent query (404 for a foreign file)
- protected download and thumb routes: is_public=false only, nosniff, private no-store, sandbox CSP, inline only for jpeg/png/gif/webp
- the save applies deferred removals, replaces attachOne files and rechecks maxFiles and required
- blobs of deleted files are removed after commit
- swagger2openapi emits binary content for file responses
- admin OpenAPI, TS types, conformance, README and attachments docs
- type: fileupload compiles the D-08 keys and binds to the model's attach.Relation at boot
- X-Session-Key (cabana.SessionKeyHeader) carries the form session key; RecordInput.SessionKey
- GET and POST .../{id}/files/{field}: list with pending uploads, multipart upload into attach.Store
- the create and update save attaches the session's pending files in its transaction
- swagger2openapi folds formData parameters into a multipart requestBody

Add a backend admin migration that creates a unique index on
lower(backend_users.email). Rows copied from WinterCMS may hold emails
that differ only in case, so the migration refuses to run and names the
clashing logins instead of choosing an account to drop.
